Ioannis Konstas and Tobias Schwecht Win Huge as GG Online Championship Ends

Ioannis Konstas and Tobias Schwecht Win Huge as GG Online Championship Ends

The GGPoker Online Championship (GGOC) was a massive success with hundreds of tournaments boasting a combined $150 million guarantee from May 5-31 at the GGPoker.

Many of the big winners came near the end including Ioannis Angelou Konstas going from near zero to hero to win the $3 million guaranteed $10,300 Super MILLION$ for $735,449 and Tobias Schwecht shipping the $8 million guaranteed $1,500 GGOC Main Event for $727,640 as part of a four-way deal.

From the Bottom to the Top for Konstas in the Super MILLION$ ($735,449)

Konstas entered the final table in the two-day $10,300 Super MILLION$ in dead last of the nine remaining players. Thanks to the final table feature at GGPoker, final table blind levels were rolled back giving Konstas a bigger effective stack than he would have had otherwise of 18.5 big blinds to kick off the action.

Lev "LevMeAlone" Gottlieb kicked off the final table with the chip lead with other big names also near the top of the pack including Benjamin Rolle, Nick Maimone, and Joao Vieira.

Rolle and Vieira were unable to advance to the podium finishing in fifth and eighth place respectively. However, Gottlieb was able to parlay his chip lead into a third-place finish while Maimone came up just short of the title before settling for the huge runner-up prize of $567,108.

Meanwhile, congrats to Konstas for winning the latest edition of the Super MILLION$ for $735,449.

Super MILLION$ Final Table Payouts

The Super MILLION$ was a huge success with 391 entries generating a $3,910,000 prize pool to obliterate the $3 million guarantee slapped on the event. The top 40 players secured at least a min-cash of $27,932 with the final table payouts listed below.

Schwecht Wins the GGOC Main Event ($727,640)

The highlight of the festival was the GGOC $1,500 Main Event boasting a whopping $8 million guarantee. After a plethora of opening flights, the Main Event attracted a massive field of 6,107 to generate an $8,702,475 prize pool to smash the $8 million guarantee.

The money was reached early on Day 2 with 916 players advancing and the top 700 players securing at least a $3,472 min-cash.

Schwecht finished on top of a final table after agreeing to a four-way deal featuring many big names. Tobias Duthwieler and Michael Addamo were among the players at the final table to fall short of the big money at the end, while Roman Hrabec, Arsenii Malinov, and Daniel Smilkovic were among those that banked nearly as much as Schwecht did with his $727,640 haul for pulling out on top thanks to agreeing to a deal before hitting the rail.
