Content Creators in Poker: Greg Goes All In Liow

Building on the last two pieces on content creators, which focused on YouTube poker vlogger pioneer Brad Owen and Twitch streamer sensation Lex Veldhuis, this piece focuses on a Canadian who moved “all in” on poker content creation in 2021 and has experienced a meteoric rise in views and subscribers over the last few years. Let’s look at the rise of Greg “Goes All In” Liow.
The Early Days Before the Blog
Liow is a native of Toronto, Canada, and it was in this city that he attended theatre school for five years, graduating in 2019. His interest in poker began during the COVID19 pandemic, and he learned the game during lockdown.
Since graduating, Liow has been busy. He worked on Netflix’s Age of Samurai, and hosted a kids’ TV show before launching the channel in 2020. During the early days, Liow kept his day jobs before making the plunge and going full-time in March of 2021.
At one stage, Liow lived in a van, which was documented on his YouTube channel, and helped him rack up early viewers when he launched his channel. Liow showed his journey from Toronto to Las Vegas whilst living in the van, which is a unique dynamic to add to a “poker vlog”, but it made for a refreshing twist.
Liow made it to Vegas over a span of 18 short episodes, and the series helped boost his brand. Liow has a bold and bright personality that carries a lot of energy and helps to keep viewers engaged into his videos.
Channel Grows
Liow experimented with different styles of content creation, and still continues too to this day. His short-from sketches which focus on a colourful crew of characters (Liow in various different outfits) and their times at the poker table.
This different approach to poker content quickly caught the clicks of viewers new and old, as most of the content in the ecosystem was more centered on the gameplay, as opposed to the characters that play it.
His comedic approach to content creation caught the eye of GGPoker, who signed Liow in mid-2021. Despite a modest subscriber count at the time, roughly 16,000, he was signed as an Entertainment Ambassador for the biggest online poker site in the world. They clearly saw potential in Liow, and his stock has skyrocketed since partnering with GG.
Award Winning Success
His channel boomed in the coming years, and his 16,000 subscriber count snowballed to over 300,000, currently standing at around 348,000.
Liow won has won two GPI Awards, one for Best Media Content” in 2022 and “Poker Personality of the Year” in 2023, following in the footsteps of his “Dad” Brad Owen, who his credited as Liow’s major influence.
Owen has also won multiple GPI Awards in 2019 for the People’s Choice Award for Poker Personality of the Year, in 2021 for Best Vlogger, which he then won again in 2025.
Why it Works and Final Thoughts
Liow’s theatre background help take his content to a new level, and his infectious enthusiasm to sketches and poker in general is what really makes his channel a hit. He has hosted successful meetup games in Canada which helped attract new fans new as well as old.
Liow is also active on social media and in the comments section of his YouTube channel, which further boosts his appeal as an all round approachable guy and one that is certainly good for the game.
The common theme between people like Liow, Veldhuis and Owen, is their openness and acceptance of their own mistakes, and owning them, instead of shying away from them.
Liow will continue to be a highly positive factor in the content creation sphere, and the game of poker overall, and as long as he keeps delivering content with his trademark humour and catchphrases.
