It was a heads-up battle of the titans in the partypoker MILLIONS Europe €10,300 High Roller with Teun Mulder coming out on top after defeating Stephen O’Dwyer heads-up to win the €67,900 top prize at Casino Barcelona.

Mulder began the live-streamed final table with the chip lead. He coughed it up briefly to Vincent Cavailles before zooming along with a huge chip advantage during most of the final table. O’Dwyer wasn’t far behind by the time heads-up play began and eventually took a commanding lead. Mulder came storming back to claim yet another huge title and, of course, the coveted trophy.

The High Roller was a two-day, family-style affair with 10 runners generating a €97,000 prize pool with the top two spots making the money.

Mulder’s Road to the Title

The opening day of the High Roller attracted five entries in Mulder, Cavailles, Jelle Moene, Luuk Gieles, and Estonian chess grandmaster Ottomar Ladva. Ladva was the only one not to make it through to Day 2 after he suffered a bad beat with his cowboys failing to hold against Cavailles’ tens.

The second Day attracted five more entries, including two by O’Dwyer, who was busy yesterday bagging up a nice stack for the Main Event. Also joining the action were Gergely Kulcsar, Imad Derwiche, and partypoker MILLIONS Europe Main Event Day 1a chip leader Vitalijs Korhs.

Moene, Gieles, and Derwiche were all on the rail before late registration closed and the official televised final table began at the partypokerTV Twitch and YouTube channels. Meanwhile, O’Dwyer hit the rail just before the end of the late-registration window but had better luck with his second bullet.

Korhs was the first player out at the t.v. table in sixth place when he lost a flip with treys against Mulder’s ace-jack suited. Although Mulder extended his lead at the time, that was short-lived. Cavailles won a big pot off Mulder and shortly after took the lead by default when O’Dwyer doubled through Mulder.

Despite losing some momentum, Mulder remained composed and snagged the lead back a couple of hands later. O’Dwyer then ousted a short-stacked Moene when his ace-ten held against king-jack. Mulder then eliminated Cavailles when his jacks held against ace-eight suited to have about 70% of the chips in play with three players remaining.

O’Dwyer then sent the short-stacked Kulcsar out on the bubble when his king-three proved to be good against jack-seven suited but Mulder still had a small chip advantage when heads-up action began. He then extended his lead to a 3:1 advantage before Mulder came storming back to take a small chip lead just before the final hand took place.

Mulder flopped a wheel with ace-trey, while O’Dwyer flopped top pair with queen-five. Aces came on both the turn and river and Mulder check-jammed the river. O’Dwyer tanked before he eventually called and had to settle for the runner-up prize of €29,100.

Congrats to Teun Mulder for yet another big title to add to his ever-growing collection!

There haven’t been fireworks or any game-changing pots early on for Day 2 of the High Roller near the end of Level 8. This is often the case in a deep-structure event such as the partypoker MILLIONS Europe High Roller.

Welcome to the second and final day of the partypoker MILLIONS Europe €10,300 High Roller at Casino Barcelona.

The first day attracted five entries with four players surviving after seven levels of play. France’s Vincent Cavailles (2,396,000) leads the way with a trio of Dutch players in Teun Mulder (1,677,000), Luuk Gieles (516,000), and Jelle Moene(411,000) also in the mix.

The field is expected to grow with re-entries permitted during the first five levels of play on Day 2. New players will start with a huge stack of 1,000,000 in chips, which equates to 50 big blinds with the action starting off with blinds at 10,000/20,000 (20,000). Blinds will increase every 30 minutes until the official final table is reached. At this point, the floor last night announced that the blinds will increase to 40 minutes.

The High Roller will be streamed on the partypokerTV Twitch and YouTube channels after late-registration is closed until a winner is crowned. Of. course, we have made it easier for you as you can also watch it here while reading our coverage by clicking on the Stream tab in the blog.

France’s Vincent Cavailles will head into the second and final day of the partypoker MILLIONS Europe €10,300 High Roller after parlaying his opening stack of 1 million in chips to nearly 2.4 million.

Cavailles entered the tournament with more than $300,000 in live tournament earnings as tracked by The Hendon Mob and was the only player of the tidy field of five entries to late-register on Day 1.

Three other players, all from the Netherlands, also found a bag on the opening day including Teun Mulder (1,677,000), Luuk Gieles (516,000), and Jelle Moene (411,000).

Estonian chess grandmaster and high-stakes poker tournament player Ottomar Ladva was less fortunate than this bunch as he wasn’t able to make it past Level 4. Ladva first ran into a Gieles’ flush before suffering a bad beat for the rest of his stack when his cowboys didn’t hold against tens with all the chips in the pot before the flop.

While Ladva opted not to re-enter on Day 1, he may decide to hop into the action on Thursday’s Day 2 with late registration open for the first five levels of the day. The field is expected to grow on Day 2 with a handful of players already confirming they will hop into the action including Steve O’Dwyer.

A televised feature table will also be broadcasted on Day 2 on the partypokerTV YouTube and Twitch channels. It is expected to go live on delay with hole cards exposed after late registration is closed.
