Visser Wins Main, Shakerchi High Roller at EPT London

EPT London champ Ruben Visser.

An action-packed week at EPT London wrapped today with Ruben Visser taking down the Main Event and Talal Shakerchi winning the £10k High Roller.

24-year-old Dutch pro/student Visser earned the marquee prize by outlasting big names Chris Moorman, Steve O'Dwyer and Theo Jorgensen before cutting a deal three-handed.

With a slight chip lead over Swede Olof Haglund and Lithuanian Mantas Visockis, the three hashed out a deal that saw Visser secure £455,000, Haglund £427,564 and Visockis £377,436. A solid £140,000 and the title were left to play for.

Haglund quickly lost a flip to bust third leaving Visser and Visockis to play it out with Visser having a huge chip advantage.

It still took two hours to finish Visockis off, with another flip ending it as Visser's AQ hit a queen on the river to top Visockis' tens.

All told, Visser takes home £595,000 and his first major tour title.

Moorman, O'Dwyer, Jorgensen All Bow Out

Theo Jorgensen
Great return to poker for Theo.

The big names everybody expected to see at the end - especially chip leader Steve O'Dwyer - couldn't make it happen.

Moorman went out first in eighth, losing a flip to Jorgensen with sevens vs. AK.

O'Dwyer lost a big flip vs. Haglund before busting in fifth to Jorgensen's aces and Jorgensen could go no further than fourth, losing in - what else - a coin flip to Visser.

The official final results and payouts:

  • 1. Ruben Visser £595,000
  • 2. Mantas Visockis £377,436
  • 3. Olof Haglund £427,564
