Nikzad, Wang winners at World Poker Classic

Shannon Shorr finished third in Event 5 of the 2007 Five Diamond World Poker Classic.

Two more preliminary events have been decided at the sixth annual Five Diamond World Poker Classic. Hooman Nikzad won Event 4, while Neal Wang took home Event 5.

Event 4 of the Five Diamond World Poker Classic was a $3,000 No-Limit Texas Hold'em tournament. A field of 231 players entered, making the total prize pool $672,210.

Hooman Nikzad defeated Huicun Qiao heads-up to win the title and $264,785 in prize money.

Big names in the money include Amnon Filippi in fifth place ($29,100), and Courtney Harrington in 18th place ($6,465). Harrington cashed in Event 1 as well, where he got $26,450 for his fifth place.

No-Limit Hold'em was the game in Event 5 as well. This time, the buy-in was $5,000, and the 197 entrants created the biggest prize pool of the series so far - $955,450.

Neal Wang took first place and received a $305,715 prize check. Runner-up Matthew Casterella got $268,455 for his efforts.

A few well-known faces cashed in Event 5, too: Farzad Bonyadi fifth ($41,850); Roy Winston, who recently won the Borgata Poker Open, finished 10th ($11,160) and Kathy Liebert finished 18th ($9,300).
