Full Review
Absolute Poker is a survivor in the online poker world. The site was one of the later entrants in the online poker boom and, after several major missteps, the room appeared like it was going nowhere.
Instead Absolute Poker made the decision to join forces with UB Poker (formerly UltimateBet) in 2008 and form the CEREUS poker network. The site now offers top 10 player traffic and a greatly enhanced playing experience.
The new motto for Cereus is "Bigger. Badder. Better." and it's hard to disagree for the most part as Absolute Poker has created an overall high-quality poker room, offering easy-to-use software and an excellent playing experience.
The software now offers all the features expected from a major player in the online poker industry with fast play, nice graphics, informative statistics functions and fantastic multi-table options.
The game variety at Absolute Poker is also very good with Hold’em, Omaha, Seven-Card Stud and Razz available. Omaha and Stud both have Hi-Lo versions as well and there are many short-handed tables.
Absolute Poker is the only poker room endorsed by reality star Trishelle Cannatella.
Players are starting to take notice and Absolute Poker has been gaining momentum ever since the merger with UB Poker.

Loyalty Program/Promotions
Absolute Poker' has a solid loyalty program called FAME which is open to all players. The FAME program has five levels - Diamond Elite, Platinum VIP, Gold, Silver and Bronze. Every time you play a real-money game you earn Status Points which define your FAME level. The higher your level, the more credit you earn.
At the Bronze level, there's no point minimum and FAME points are 1-1 for credit. The Silver level requires 50 points/month and multiplier is two (i.e 50 Points = 100 credits). Gold level requires 500 points and the multiplier is 3x. Platinum VIP starts at 2,500 points and Diamond Elite at 10,000 points, with multipliers of 4 and 5.
Credit can then be exchanged for cash, gadgets, gas cards and merch in the Rewards Store, unlocking exclusive credit-only cash tournaments and more. Status points are reset every month.

Tournaments and Freerolls
Absolute Poker hosts a ton of tournaments and most poker players, whatever their preferences, should find something they like. Tournaments have buy-ins ranging from $1 up to $5,000 and are usually pretty full, loose and fast. Play at any level is pretty loose and even the bigger buy-in tournaments offer relatively loose play.
Absolute Poker was already on the map for its weekly $150,000 and $75,000 guaranteed tournaments, with very high turnouts and great value in the loose and fast play. With the move to Cereus, it's now bumped the weekend tournament guarantees to an impressive $500k total.
On top of the regular sit-and-go and MTT lineup, Absolute Poker also offers lots of qualifiers to big live events like the WSOP.
Absolute Poker runs plenty of free tournaments, most ranging in the small to medium prize-pool category. Tournaments are mostly large multi-table Limit and No-Limit Texas Hold'em events, with lots of beginners and below average players. Try out the "Absolute Swag" and "Poker Aces" freerolls to win t-shirts, polos, books and more.
One downside on the CEREUS poket network is that it can be tough to find large MTTs during off hours. Any time after 5 p.m. ET and you should be fine, however.
Freerolls are probably not your best bet if you're looking for a big score, but good all the same for learning how to play and padding your poker t-shirt collection. Beside the frequent small freerolls, Absolute Poker also offers some $10,000 seasonal freerolls and other special events with huge value.

Software and Graphics
If you’re looking for simple, straight-forward software then it’s hard to argue against Absolute Poker.
The lobby and tables are very simple and players who abhor clutter are going to like the interface. On the other hand some might find Absolute Poker rather plain looking compared to some of the competing poker clients.
Either way the platform, which is provided by the CEREUS network, is solid and it offers multi-tabling features, hand history stats, four-color deck and a detachable chat window.
Some of the newer improvements include final-table deal-making, a rabbit cam and both pot and half-pot betting buttons.
Those looking for a completely customizable experience might be disappointed by Absolute Poker, which only offers three table views and doesn't stray far from its red, white and blue theme.

Soft Competition
Absolute Poker has always been one of the softest sites to play on with plenty of beginners and out-and-out loose and terrible play very common. With the move to Cereus, expect competition to get a little bit tougher, but not much.
The bulk of the action will stay at the low and medium limits, with games varying from fairly loose to just plain loose. Games in the lower limits can have a viewed-flop percentage reaching 50-60% or more, which translates into action-packed, juicy games for the small-stakes player.
In our experience we found the Seven-Card Stud games to be ridiculously soft although they can be tough to find.
