WPT Global Adds €100K Bonus to Irish Poker Cup Via OnLive Day 1

The Irish Poker Cup is getting a six-figure twist this year — if, that is, you know your way around an online Day 1.

WPT Global has announced an exclusive €100,000 bonus for players who make the top 30 in its $815 (€700) OnLive Day 1 on August 31 and then go on to win the €500,000 GTD Main Event live in Killarney. Those 30 players will earn a Golden Ticket — no chocolate factory required, but still potentially quite sweet.

The best part? You don’t even have to survive the online flight to stay eligible for the bonus. Bust out early, buy into a live Day 1 in Ireland, win the Main Event anyway—and WPT Global will still add €100K to your prize.

How It Works: One Ticket, Two Paths to €100K

  • Play Online Day 1 on August 31 at WPT Global (buy-in: $815 / €700)
  • Finish in the Top 30 → get a Golden Ticket
  • Win the Main Event in Killarney → get €100K on top of your prize money

Players who earn a Golden Ticket but don’t make it through to Day 2 can re-enter live at The Gleneagle Hotel/INEC between September 24–27. All roads lead to Day 2 on September 27, followed by the final day on September 28.

What’s the Catch?

There isn’t one, really — just the usual fine print. You’ll need to complete KYC by the start of Day 2, travel is on you, and the promotion only applies if the tournament plays out without a deal. Chop the prize pool and the bonus disappears.

Also: Golden Tickets aren’t transferable, and they expire once the event concludes.

If fewer than 30 players register for the online Day 1, everyone gets a Golden Ticket. Possibly the softest overlay in Europe.

The Irish Poker Cup Gets a Digital Warm-Up

This marks another “OnLive” fusion for WPT Global, blending online qualifiers with direct live event integration. Day 1 on August 31 mirrors the live structure—40,000 starting stack, 15-minute levels—and survivors jump straight into Day 2 in Killarney.

It’s a clever way to scale up a prestigious regional event without turning it into a rake race. And it gives players something worth playing for long before the Guinness starts flowing.
