Ami Barer
Ami "UhhMee" Barer

Everyone dreams of winning a SCOOP title. Winning two in one festival has been done often enough but is still something special.

Ami “UhhMee” Barer recently had the honor of doing just that. Earlier in the festival, Barer navigated through a field of 360 entries in the SCOOP 16-M: $109 6+ Hold’em Turbo for $6,612. A few days later, he won a much bigger prize of $57,161 including bounties after shipping his second SCOOP title of the year in the SCOOP 32-H: $1,050 NLHE 7-Max Hyper PKO.

With these two victories, Barer has doubled his career SCOOP titles to four and counting. He somewhat broke a rut with his first two SCOOP titles coming years ago in 2012 and 2014.

Ole Schemion

Ole “wizowizo” Schemion is another old-school grinder that has experienced early success in the 2022 SCOOP. In fact, he has won the biggest prize to date this festival after defeating Laszlo “omaha4rollz” Bujtas heads-up to win the SCOOP 13-H: $10,300 NLHE Super Tuesday High Roller for $202,432 and his fifth SCOOP title.

Remarkably, this isn’t the biggest SCOOP win for Schemion as he has managed two bigger SCOOP victories including the 2018 SCOOP 32-H: $10,300 PLO for $283,260 and the 2022 SCOOP 102-H: $10,300 NLHE High Roller for $258,639.

Perhaps there is still more SCOOP victory left to come if one believes in patterns as he had two victories in 2018 along with another two in 2020.

Benny “RunGodLike” Glaser is just the gift that keeps giving as he has one a SCOOP title each year since 2018. The British poker pro, who has a reputation as a mixed-game specialist, recently won his seventh SCOOP title after defeating a tidy field of 45 players in the SCOOP 09-H: $2,100 HORSE for $31,080.

There is still work to be done for Glaser to become the all-time SCOOP victory leader as he is still three titles behind the ten SCOOP titles won by Calvin “cal42688” Anderson.
