WINNER: 888poker

The winner of the Most Improved Software award in 2020 is 888poker - largely due to its major November mobile update.

The new "Made to Play" software meant a visual facelift and added player focus based on feedback that 888 collected for months.

We found the new portrait mode for tables super beneficial to play one-handed on your phone. Plus, swiping between tables is easier and you get red notification dots so you never miss anything during play.

We also believe that chat's removal on mobile, or rather it being replaced by emojis and throwables, helps speed up games significantly.

Add all this to the Gift Drops and Winner Spinner features, which also add more value to the 888 software.

Nominees for Most Improved Software

Granted, the partypoker software has a long way to go. But with the December and March updates the developers over at partypoker added a plethora of new features that greatly improved the look and feel at the tables. Among other features rabbit hunting, run it twice and king of the hill heads-up game registration were implemented.

The mobile app also got a much-needed overhaul and now allows a portrait mode table view which makes playing via smartphone that much better.

888poker App

888poker released an all new 888poker mobile app in November 2020 and this app is a major leap forward for 888 in the field of mobile poker. The app allows portrait mode tables, swiping between tables, reaction emoticons (replacing the chat entirely) and easy note keeping with tags.

The new app is 100% aimed towards recreational and pastime players. Complete with gift drops and daily winner spinners 888 succeeded in creating an app that appeals to hobby players.

GGPoker

GGPoker All-In-Bingo

GGPoker leaped into the front line over the past 3 years and some-when last year their software overtook PokerStars regarding features and usability. Over the past 12 months the GGPoker was further improved. All-In-Bingo spiced up the All-In-Or-Fold-Tables, daily Rush&Cash races and weekly Spin&Gold races reward frequent play and configurable hot keys make multi tabling easier. On top of that GGPoker drastically reduced the PLO rake which makes it the best operator for low- and mid-stakes Omaha.

How the Awards Process Works

The PokerListings editorial team has worked in the online poker business for decades and here we’re presenting the PokerListings Operator Awards - casting a spotlight on the most deserving in the business.

1. Nominations

Throughout the month of November, our PokerListings experts present the shortlisted nominees in 8 different categories: Best for Beginners, Best for Grinders, Best Online Series, Best Software, Most Improved, Innovation of the Year, Poker Operator of the Year, and finally the PokerListings Players' Favorite.

2. Voting

During this Nomination period in November all PokerListings players can vote for our 8th category: Your favorite poker operator of them all. You will find a wider selection of nominees than the other award categories for a better choice. And you can cast your vote (one per person) on our Facebook and Twitter channels. We'll provide results on both outlets as well as our Player Favorite page - along with the other category results.

3. Winners

After a long deliberation throughout this month, we will announce the winners on all our channels at the start of December (official date TBA). Our winners will also be contacted and provided with their badge of honor as this year's winners.
