Fortune Wheel Spin to Win

Some poker events are more famous than others in that they have a certain level of history associated with them. One such is the Irish Poker Open, sponsored by PokerStars and Paddy Power, which will return to poker-mad Dublin, Ireland, from 3-10 April.

Even the venue is indicative of the status of the event, being none other than the Royal Dublin Society! Nowadays, we’re used to seeing a positive relationship between real money online poker and so-called Bricks & Mortar poker, and PokerStars players will be able to take advantage of a bankroll-friendly qualifying set-up to win seats at the prestigious €1,150 buy-in Irish Poker Open 2023 Main Event.

You don’t need to be an online poker tournament whiz kid to give qualifying a go, so if you haven’t yet joined PokerStars you can check out our dedicated info page and make the most of the best online poker bonuses and offers currently available.

There’s a Host of Routes to Dublin at PokerStars

A veritable veteran when it comes to giving their players opportunities to win their way to major poker festivals, PokerStars is once again the go-to place for the budding king (or queen!) of poker. A massive 23 entries to the big money Main Event in Dublin are up for grabs at this popular online poker room, with multiple satellites being held every week in the run-up to the Irish Poker Open.

Note that this is yet another very accessible qualifying set-up that caters for all bankrolls. As well as four direct weekly satellites with buy-ins of €55 and €109, there are Feeder satellites, too, and you can start your quest at various levels. Beginning with Freebuys, you can also choose between buy-ins of €1.10, €5.50, €11 and €16.50, the rewards being seats in either the €55 or €109 buy-in direct satellites with a juicy package to be won.

  • Friday: 5 Seat Only GTD
  • Sunday: 8 Seat + Expenses GTD

And to top it all off, Sunday 19 March will see a Mega Satellite with 20 Seats + Expenses guaranteed!

As The Festival Series approaches, the excitement should build for one of the best value tournaments on the schedule.

The PokerListings Championship will be the one tournament that is open to most bankrolls and provides a great ROI for the Champion, due to the amazing value and the field of players looking to enjoy the Festival atmosphere.

The PokerListings Championship Multi-Day Structure

On the schedule, there are not many more enjoyable tournaments than the No-Limit Texas Hold’em format of the PokerListings Championship, which will be able to host huge fields due to it being held in the famous UK poker venue, the Dusk Till Dawn poker room.

Dusk Till Dawn has worked with PokerListings to extend the amount of Day 1s running, giving players even more opportunities to fire bullets and run up a stack, giving you an even higher chance of taking it down and getting your hands on the PokerListings Championship trophy.

Previous PokerListings Champions

We have already seen players maneuver their way through the tough field that the Championship event brings – in 2021 in Bratislava, Geraint JJ Hazan managed to scoop €7,375 after he crushed the 194-player field at Casino Banco.

In June 2022 the field grew in size, with 252 registrants going into the Olympic Casino with their eyes on the top prize. In the end, Kalle Ly and Antony Jay Kauzloric chopped up €10,736 for a hefty payday.

Last but not least, we recently saw Manuel Blaschke cruise to the 1st place podium finish and collect €7,335. Keep in mind, we expect this PokerListings Championship to smash the numbers with entries, with the field and prizepools seemingly on the way to being record-breaking for the Festival Series.

When is The PokerListings Championship?

From January 13 to 19, The Festival Series will incorporate three Day 1s starting from Day 1A on Sunday, February 12, with the final day happening on Wednesday, February 15. These additional Day 1s are going to make this a can’t-miss tournament on the Festival Series schedule.

How to Win a Huge Field Live Poker Tournament?

You may be feeling a bit unnerved about going into a huge field tournament like the PokerListings Championship, but have no fear! We have put together some simple tips for you to come down to Nottingham, shake off the nerves and have some fun playing No-Limit Texas Hold’em.

Here are our top tips for navigating a huge field live poker tournament:

1. Remember The Blinds

So often you see players unnecessarily stacking off early in a tournament when they are 300+ big blinds deep – this structure allows you to take your time and be patient. So remember how many big blinds you have before you do anything too crazy!

2. Do Not Get Nervous Around The Money

A lot of rusty or inexperienced poker players might get nervous the closer to the money they get. Try to forget this and just make the best decision you can. There is no need to be overly tight as other players will likely be as nervous if not more – a great time to exploit!

3. Pay Attention

A lot of new poker players will fail to pay attention to the action or what the dealer says, this can lead to mistakes and lost chips. You should always pay attention, ask the dealer if you are unsure, and take your time with your actions.

In the modern era of instant gratification and – for many – limited free time, it can be difficult to take time off from the usual responsibilities of life to indulge ourselves in our own personal pleasures and pastimes.

This is often the case for poker fans, of course. Fortunately, those ever resourceful minds who strive to make sure that the real money online poker eco-system remains healthy continue to succeed in devising player-friendly games and formats.

One that has been a welcome arrival for recreational and serious poker players alike is partypoker’s Fastforward cash game offering, which takes the traditional model and adds a sort of nuclear twist. The distinct difference to the norm is that as soon as you fold your hand you’re sent through cyberspace to a new table and thrown straight into a new hand. The result is that there’s no twiddling your thumbs while waiting around for others to finish, and you can save even more time thanks to a facility that allows you to fold out of turn. Imagine a good old-fashioned Texas Hold’em or Omaha cash game, but the pace of play ratcheted up to the speed of light…

With stakes at the Fastforward tables starting as low as $0.01/$0.02 and rising to $5/$10, it’s yet another example of why partypoker deserve praise for making the online poker experience so accessible. Fun players with modest bankrolls can enjoy fast-paced action with fellow poker hobbyists, while seasoned grinders can achieve more volume.

partypoker poker chips.

And herein lies another attraction of Fastforward poker, namely the additional hands per hour or session mean we can rack up rewards quicker. Moreover, if you’re so inclined, you can also play up to six tables simultaneously. Add in partypoker’s Boosted Hours and it’s the gift that keeps on giving…

Your writer still remembers when, very new to the delights of real money online poker a couple of decades ago, I won my first ever Sit & Go … it didn’t matter at the time that the prize was just a few dollars, rather it was a milestone of sorts. In those days everything in the then essentially fledgling industry seemed new, whether it was Texas Hold’em cash games (Limit Poker was a big thing back then!), bog standard Sit & Go fare or online poker tournaments that new players were getting the hang of, to most it was all a novel experience.

How things have changed! These very same games and formats still form the foundations of the online poker environment we enjoy today, but there are many more variations to the theme(s), and it’s almost like the game has an extra dimension to it.

The Sit & Go offering at Juicy Stakes Poker is typical of how the modern-day poker fan has so much more choice compared with the old days. For those of you who have thus far played only cash games, or who have just started playing tournaments, the Sit & Go format can be a strange animal. The single table set-up means that you’re typically up against a similar number of opponents as is the case in a cash game, but in a tournament context, with the name of the game being to finish in the top two placings, for example. And, at the same time, it’s not wholly a tournament setting, per se, but more like a final table. Indeed, it’s this characteristic that leads experts to recommend Sit & Go games as a training tool for tournament players wishing to hone their ‘endgame’ skills – having an exclusively Sit & Go session, for instance, is a great way to acquaint ourselves with the dynamics of the business end of tournaments. (It also helps to get used to the idea of being knocked out of tournaments, which is an occupational hazard for us all!)

Juicy Stakes Poker Bounty SNG's.

It’s a nice sign of the times that Juicy Stakes Poker has an array of Sit & Go formats to explore, with something for everyone. There’s the usual standard variant for the traditionalists among us, but the more adventurous might wish to give this upwardly mobile poker room’s newly added Bounty Sit & Go games a try, or the Hyper Challenge tournaments.

Meanwhile, a potentially useful by-product of becoming a strong Sit & Go player is being able to put your edge to good use in the Sit & Go qualifiers for the weekly $10,000 GTD Sunday Sundowner fixture.

Good luck at Juicy Stakes Poker’s Sit & Go tables, and have fun!

Hi everyone!

It’s been a whirlwind 2022 which has flown by – despite this, we have had so many exciting moments throughout the year.

As we look at the whole of 2022, PokerListings are proud to have passed on over $1 million in free value for our audience!

We gave away seats to huge poker tournaments, held our own poker tournaments too which exceed massive guarantees, held giveaways and raffles for poker merchandise and we massively appreciate the subscriptions we were able to give to our audience from our poker school and coaching partners.

We have held two widely successful poker tournaments in the form of the Festival Series events, which had over €800,000 in guarantees, and an online Festival Series which had guarantees of over $750,000.

We loved every second of the live Festival Series events we held this year in Tallinn and Bratislava, and could not have been more ecstatic with the turnout of the poker players for these events.

Whether it was the 552 entries for the Tallinn main event, which was won by Eirik Kristiansen for €56,100, or the Bratislava main event which had a huge 1,271 entries and was scooped by Michel Molenaar for €126,650, we cannot thank you enough for this support.

We created The Festival Series with the mind of giving something back to the fun poker player – the person who gets bored with the high buy-in and low social atmospheres of a lot of live tournament series in Europe. For €550 you can play in a massive tournament and take part in fun side events, whether your itch is scratched by Open-Face Chinese poker or a bit of Pot-Limit Omaha.

We are equally excited for the 2023 Festival Series to stop in Rob Yong’s Dusk Till Dawn venue in Nottingham, UK. The poker room is often dubbed ‘the home of UK poker’ and for good reason – the venue has hosted some of the biggest tournament series in Europe, and will add to the list with The Festival. We hope to see many of you there this February.

The year 2022 was a brilliant year for collaboration, as we paired up with some of the biggest and most exciting names in poker.

We joined forces with Swedish poker pro and former WSOP Main Event Champion Martin Jacobson, which is going to see PokerListings pairing with his top-level poker mind to create more educational and strategy-based poker content for those of you looking to step up your game.

PokerListings Head of Poker, Mauritz Altikardes, called Jacobson the “perfect match” as he commented on the collaboration, saying: “Martin’s achievements, years of experience, and understanding of the poker landscape will provide a unique perspective to our audience, and I am thrilled for this partnership.”

As well as pairing with an exceptional poker player, we have also partnered with one of the most well-known poker brands in the WPT Global. The collaboration is focusing on their new real money poker platform, WPT Global, which was launched earlier in 2022.

The exclusive partnership with this new player in the online poker provider industry only adds to our buzz for 2023 – we can see so many exciting opportunities that can come from this and hope that as WPT Global expands its jurisdictions, more and more poker players can enjoy what they have to offer.

Ultimately, none of these incredible developments would have been possible without your support throughout 2022 and beyond – we are privileged to create poker content for you and continue to strive to make the best poker news and strategy content that we possibly can.

We are looking to push on with our poker offering, with 3-4 live poker series, 2 online poker series, and multiple ranking and leaderboard poker series with boosted guarantees and value for all players.

We are going to be making wide pushes on our poker content too, writing more that focuses on the poker industry in both land-based and online poker developments, where we pay more attention to those people who continue to help the poker vertical grow.

We hope you have a prosperous 2023 and run well at the green felt no matter where you are in the world,

The PokerListings Team

Since 2020, we have been awarding the best poker operators and innovators in the poker business with our PokerListings Operator Awards. Every year the operators are nominated and awarded in several categories. Below we list the winners of this year’s PokerListings Awards.

Best Software Overall 2022

This award is for outstanding software. Who has the sleekest interface, the best features and the best graphics right now? In this category we award the poker operator with the best overall software solution for players.

The winner in category Best Software Overall 2022 is… PokerStars

PokerStars have dominated the online poker experience for years, and this does not look like changing anytime soon. Despite fervent competition in the form of newcomers GGPoker, other operators cannot muster online poker software anything close to what is available on the PokerStars client.

Whether it is using their incredible PokerStars VR platform or taking part in their brand new Home Games, the software is as clean-cut and dynamic as anything out there. PokerStars takes the title based on how customizable they have allowed their software to remain – you can design the layout, table, and felt colors and how you want your chips displayed with ease.

GGPoker has caught up through their modern and stylish poker client, but PokerStars has listened to players in 2022 by heightening the levels of customizability whilst also pushing on with fun innovations like PokerStars VR. For 2022, there was no better online poker software than PokerStars.

Other nominees in this category 2022 was: partypoker, 888poker, Unibet, WPT Global, Coolbet and America’s Cardroom (ACR)

Best Beginner Software 2022

Which operator offers the ideal environment for players who are brand new to the game? This prize goes to the poker site with the best product for newbies and which does the best job of attracting new online poker players.

The winner in category Best Beginner Software is… partypoker

Having a poker client that is not overwhelming, full of regulars and tough competition and that pushes for recreational involvement is crucial to the poker ecosystem. Thankfully partypoker has stepped in and created the perfect poker client where a recreational beginner who has a small bankroll but strong dedication can find a home.

Whether it is the consistent and affordable poker tournaments, the easy-to-use poker client, or the variety of poker games at lower stakes, partypoker takes the trophy for the best poker software for beginners in 2022.

Other nominees in this category 2022 was: PokerStars, Juicy Stakes Poker, WPT Global, GGPoker and 888poker

Best Grinder Software 2022

PokerListings also awards the best software option for grinders. The award in this category goes to the operator that has the best environment for professional players. This includes the most extensive game selection and the most lucrative VIP program for players who play a lot of poker.

The winner in category Best Grinder Software is… 888poker

A big area of contrition for the online poker community is the treatment of the grinders. We are seeing more and more poker operators shun them to the side, usually in the form of rakeback and the way online cash and tournaments are run. Thankfully, 888poker has given the poker community signs that they are still committed to giving the poker grinder a home to play poker.

Whilst GGPoker can use all the bells and whistles with their smart HUDs and poker hands database, 888poker has kept that realm to the grinder by not following this pathway. They have allowed integration to PokerTracker 4 or Hold’em Manager 3, whilst also allowing 888Caption to run on the client which makes the life of the grinder so much better on that site.

The customizability aspect of 888poker’s client is what makes it additionally beneficial for the grinder. You can turn off things that might affect your PC  performance and stop things that cause distraction. The ability to adapt tables to the different types of tournaments is huge, and 888poker has extended this function handsomely in 2022.

Other nominees in this category 2022 was: PokerStars, partypoker, Juicy Stakes Poker, WPT Global and GGPoker

Best Poker Operator 2022

This award goes to the poker room that performed best overall this year – the all-rounder that ticked all the boxes: game options, support, promotions, tournament series and guarantees.

The winner in category Best Poker Operator is… GGPoker

If you go back only a few years ago, you probably would have been called crazy if you said that PokerStars would have their poker operating dominance unseated. Times have changed, and rapidly so.

The pandemic brought along with it opportunity in the form of online poker, as people who enjoyed the online felt had more time than ever to sit in and grind. Up stepped GGPoker, who has run with it ever since – going as far as outmatching PokerStars in player traffic in 2021 for the first time.

Every year GGPoker continues to find new ways to innovate its offering whilst giving more back to the players. They have created a seamless transition with their World Series of Poker partnership, running bracelet events and WSOP Circuit ring events so players in Europe can get a taste of the prestige.

GGPoker also carried out the first Mystery Bounty online poker tournament, following on from Wynn’s successful poker innovation and giving it to the global poker audience. They capitalized on their Triton Poker partnership in fantastic fashion too, providing affordable satellites to the biggest poker stage of them all.

Whether it is boosting their profile with huge player names and sponsorships or finding new ways to keep online poker interesting for the recreational player, GGPoker continues to close the gap between PokerStars and they took the top spot in 2022.

Other nominees in this category was: PokerStars, 888poker, Partypoker, WPT Global and Unibet Poker

Best Online Tournament Series 2022

There have been many great online series this year. But which one is the best in terms of overall event management, promotion and support? This award goes to the operator who gave us the best tournament series in 2022.

The winner in category Best Online Tournament Series is… GGPoker

GGPoker smashed it out of the park in a year where there were many amazing online poker series. Whilst PokerStars put forward great events in both the SCOOP and WCOOP series, GGPoker utilized their WSOP partnership to maximum effect and created a tournament schedule that was superb for all types of players.

Their World Series of Poker Online series ran from August 14 to September 27 and gave players the chance to win a humungous 33 gold bracelets. This included the World Series of Poker Million Dollar Mystery Bounty, which cost just $210 for players to enter and take a shot – something that could be the best event of the whole online poker year.

GGPoker also situated a $5,000 Main Event with a $20,000,000 prizepool, allowing both mid-stakes and high-stakes grinders to battle for the ultimate poker crown in the online world.

Keeping the schedule’s most popular events could be argued as GGPoker’s biggest success with this event, as they incorporated a $1,111 Every 1 for War Relief event which donated $111 per entry to the NBU, whilst also running a $10,000 Heads Up No-Limit Hold’em Championship event which is just as popular for the spectators as it is for the best poker players.

Events like the $1,500 Millionaire Maker and the $1,050 WSOP GGMasters Freezeouit, with their $5 million and $2 million prizepools respectively, continued to show why this online poker series took the crown when it came to which was best in 2022.

Other nominees in this category was: The Festival (888poker), partypoker MILLIONS (partypoker), SCOOP (PokerStars) and Unibet Online Series (Unibet)

Best Poker Innovation 2022

Online poker is constantly evolving and new games and variants are constantly being added on all sites. But which operator had the best poker innovation in 2022? This award goes to the best new product idea this year.

The winner in category Best Poker Innovation is… GGPoker´s Ask Fedor

2022 saw poker operators continue to pave the way with new and quirky innovations. Whether it was utilizing technology or simply adapting and improving the online poker offering, operators continue to set the bar high and 2022 was no different.

The winner is GGPoker for their use of the Ask Fedor innovation which is something completely new to the industry. Using their partnership with the Pokercode founder and WSOP Champion, they worked with the poker genius and the AI system known as PROMETHEUS to give players on the software the opportunity to get Fedor’s opinion on how a hand was played.

No longer will you have to post your hand history in your poker chat group to deafening silence – you can now submit it through the Ask Fedor feature and get post-play breakdowns, analysis, and a rating, so you can boast to your friends when you play a poker hand exactly how Fedor Holz would have.

Other nominees in this category was: Mystery Bounty (GGPoker), PokerStars VR (PokerStars) and Franke’s Flip Flops (The Festival Series)

Player’s Favorite 2022

The most glamorous award an operator can get is probably the one all the players vote for as favourite. So which poker room has the most fans and dedicated players this year? Here it were the PokerListings readers who took center stage and voted for their favourite poker operator.

The winner in category Player’s Favourite is… PokerStars

The poker award of 2022 is done democratically, this award was conducted through a poll on the PokerListings website which also grants a voter a $1,050 PokerStars New Year Series Main Event seat, which can give you an idea of which poker operator won the award for 2022.

PokerStars continues to be the best place for poker fans to play due to it being the premier home of online poker. Whilst others are going to close the gap in both the prestige and the poker tournaments on offer, PokerStars has that legendary aspect of being here the longest. It continues to host the biggest and best online tournaments regularly, as well as having the best online poker players battle it out.

There is something magical about the PokerStars client and the games it offers – whether it is the famous Sunday Million or the renowned 500NL Zoom cash games, PokerStars is still the ultimate arena for poker players.

Other nominees in this category was: Unibet, GUTS Poker, Juicy Stakes Poker, 888poker, Tiger Gaming, partypoker, Coolbet Poker, WPT Global, America’s Cardroom (ACR), GGPoker and RocketPot Poker

The World Poker Tour World Championship held at Wynn Las Vegas was one of the most anticipated and memorable poker tournaments. It boasts of having the most significant live poker event with a guaranteed prize pool of $15 million. However, the event had an entry of 2,960, making the guaranteed jackpot prize $29,008,000. Stephen Kehoe was one of the participants, and with the seat he won at WPT Global for only $550, he bagged $296,000.

The WPT World Championship at Wynn Las Vegas

The WPT World Championship at Wynn Las Vegas took place on December 2022. This tournament is one of the year’s most significant live poker events. It was a multi-tournament festival with more than a dozen tournaments, including the Prime Championship, the Wynn Bounty, and The World Championship. Initially, the guaranteed win was set at $15 million. The popularity of the event and the enthusiasm of poker players worldwide changed this. With 2,960 registered players, the guaranteed win shot up to $29,008,000. Eliot Hudon of Canada claimed the first prize of $4,136,000, leading to a massive entry of 2,960. He is followed by Benny Glaser (UK), Jean-Claude Moussa (Canada), Adam Adler (USA), and Frank Funaro (USA).

Stephen Kehoe – How He Became Part of the Tournament

Kehoe was one of the entrants in the WPT World Championship. He did not shell out $10,000 to participate but won his seat at WPT Global for only $550. WPT Global has $550 buy-in satellites that grant seats to the WPT World Championship and $2,000 for travel expenses. Stephen Kehoe saw this advertisement and grabbed the opportunity. This offer led him to Wynn Las Vegas to participate in one of the monumental live poker tournaments. It was also an honor for him to represent his country, Ireland.

Stephen Kehoe’s Road to Glory

Although he did not get the opportunity during the first satellite, he won his way in on the second one. In Las Vegas, he was not aiming to be at the top but only wanted to finish the tournament. As one of the players of Day 1C, he started with 25,500 stacks and was lucky enough to bag 722,000 stacks, landing him in the top 20 out of 513 players. Stephen Kehoe ended Day 2 with 711,000 stacks with 396 players left. Day 3 was even better, with 1,470,000 stacks with 128 players remaining. He landed at 31st place out of the 37 remaining players on Day 5 with an even bountiful stack of 3.1 million.

An Unforgettable Move

Stephen Kehoe’s preflop strategy has caught his opponents unaware. He made them fold by betting 80% of his stack, and he did this with the remaining 18 players on back-to-back hands. As a result, his stack almost doubled. This move by Stephen has helped him immensely in winning $269,900. Along with the 16 players remaining, Stephen moved to the live stream table. However, he eventually got eliminated in the 14th place.

It is common to see players leave the table with a disappointed look. Stephen’s reaction when he left the table was completely the opposite. He was smiling radiantly while walking in the Encore Ballroom hallways.

With the experience and success of Stephen in the WPT World Championship, he sure will be playing more of the $10K buy-ins other than playing satellites on WPT Global. Stephen Kehoe’s determination and skill in playing live poker have surely inspired many poker enthusiasts to dream big and be part of something special in the history of live poker tournaments.

The world of real money online poker can be daunting for newcomers, but it is, in fact, a user-friendly environment in which would-be masters of the virtual poker baize can learn as they go. It’s also rich with potential…

Whether it’s Texas Hold’em games or the four hole card Pot Limit Omaha variant, or you want to become an online poker tournament warrior, a good choice as far as online poker operators go is WPT Global which, as well as being a great place to play, is also the online portal through which you can find yourself battling away at prestigious, big money World Poker Tour events.    WPT Global is certainly full to the brim with opportunities for poker fans, with a varied selection of tournaments and a comprehensive qualifying set-up that affords players of all kinds chances to win big.

Stephen Kehoe.
Stephen Kehoe: from qualifier to bigtime winner

One such is Stephen Kehoe of Ireland, who took advantage of one of many satellites hosted by the forward-thinking poker room to win his way to a seat at the $10,400 buy-in, $15,000,000 GTD WPT World Championship, which took place at Wynn Las Vegas in December. You might have already guessed that this story has a happy ending, and Stephen did indeed achieve a life-changing result when he eventually finished in 14th place in the 2,960-entry tournament to take home a massive $269,900!

Having ended Day 1C with enough chips to put him in the top 20 for that flight, Stephen continued to progress and, by Day 5, found himself among the remaining 37 survivors from the massive field. Despite slipping down to just 5BB as the tournament entered the final phase, the qualifier managed to hold on long enough to make his chunky cash.

What’s great about this story – and something that is unique to poker (compared with chess, for example) – is that it could happen to anyone…

After the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act of 2006 (UIGEA) effectively snubbed out real money online poker in the United States, it’s always good to see progress being made and new milestones reached in bringing back the game to its traditional home.

In recent years the efforts of poker operators have seen tremendous moves forward, and PokerStars in particular deserve great credit for their contribution to providing US players with opportunities to enjoy one of the nation’s favourite pastimes.

To this end, PokerStars are starting 2023 with a bang by hosting their largest ever online poker tournament series in the United States, namely the PSPC Online, which will run from 13-30 January. While the PokerStars Players Championship (PSPC) that’s due to take place in the Bahamas this month has already proved a great success, not everyone can afford to pay the $25,000 buy-in for that particular event, so the idea behind PSPC Online is to provide an online series for US players that combines more affordable buy-ins with tasty prize pools.

Indeed, this is online poker history being made as it is the first multi-state online series for the recently combined player pool of Michigan and New Jersey – again, this is a worthy achievement in the context of online poker in the US. As for the numbers, there’ll be a guaranteed $2.5 million in prizes across 85 events.

But that’s not all! Players in Pennsylvania will also be able to get involved, too, thanks to PokerStars also laying on an additional series featuring 72 events and a total of $1.5 million in guaranteed prize money!

Something for All Bankrolls

True to form, PokerStars had the typical poker fan in mind when devising the PSPC Online series. First, not only is the buy-in for the $300,000 GTD Main Event $250, but there’s also a $50 buy-in Mini Main Event that will boast a juicy $75,000 guarantee. Meanwhile, there’s even something for those with bigger bankrolls in the form of a $2,500 buy-in High Roller Main Event that has a $125,000 guaranteed prize pool.

As well as these Main Events, other tournaments have buy-ins as low as $10, and don’t forget that there are satellites from just $1. It’s even possible to win Main Event seats via $2.50 buy-in Spin & Go specials!

Finally, topping up your account by depositing $50 and using the code “PSPC Online” gets a free ticket to a Depositor Freeroll on January 29, which also happens to be when the Main Events for both the Michigan and New Jersey player pool and Pennsylvania get underway.

Severin Rasset, PokerStars US Managing Director, had this to say about the PSPC Online series: “We’re excited to bring players our first multi-state online series and our largest online series to date in the US, where players have the chance to join in the Bahamian fun of the PSPC and play alongside their favourite players as they battle it out on the online tables. There’s plenty more to come for the MI and NJ community and we look forward to awarding our players in 2023 and beyond.”

Here’s to a great 2023 for poker fans in the US!

Get your ticket to The Festival in Nottingham on Juicy Stakes Poker, and while you’re there, check out the Blackjack and casino games as well.

The Festival Nottingham at Dusk till Dawn is about a month away and one of the ways players can get there is via qualifiers on Juicy Stakes Poker. That’s just one of the big games on offer from the operator as players can also play for tickets to a WSOP Circuit series in St Maarten in March.

The operator isn’t exactly a newcomer on the online gaming landscape, having emerged out of the collapse of Cake Poker in the aftermath of Black Friday, but it’s safe to say the operator doesn’t have the highest profile in the industry. With partnerships with The Festival and the WSOP-C however, that looks to change as 2023 dawns.

Players can play their way to The Festival for $109 in the main satellite. That offers packages to The Festival worth $2,700, but there are sub-satellite games for $6.60.

That’s not the only big satellite on offer from Juicy Stakes either. There is a $175 qualifier to WSOP-C in St Maarten in March, with $4,200 packages to the event up top and a sub-qualifier tree that starts at $5.50.

Juicy Stakes for Everyone

There are a wide range of games on offer at Juicy Stakes, with something for most bankrolls. There are real money poker tournaments starting as low as $1.10, and ranging up to the marquee game, the $125 Sunday Myriad with $10k guaranteed.

There are also cash games and sit & gos on offer from Juicy Stakes for a wide variety of poker to whet the appetite of most players. Cash stakes range from 1c/2c on the bottom end, to $10/$20 up top, while S&G players can get into the games for as little as $1 and as much as $500, with both hold’em and Omaha games, including Omaha Hi/Lo, on offer.

There are also play money options on Juicy Stakes, as well as a fun rakeback system in the form of Gold Coins. Coins are earned as players play the games, but they can also be won in special tournaments with Coins as buy-in.

The Festival in Nottingham

The big games right now on Juicy Stakes are playing into The Festival Nottingham. The Festival Nottingham is being played at the fabled Dusk till Dawn poker club, with that club only part of the reason Nottingham is one of the top poker destinations in the world. Off the tables, Nottingham is littered with history and myth from Robin Hood through its history as a staging point for Crusaders heading to the Middle East.

There will be plenty of poker action to keep players busy on the tables however, and Juicy Stakes is looking to send some players to the game. The qualifier tree culminates with a $109 buy-in game that offers packages to the event worth more than $2,700.

The Festival Nottingham Package Details

There are lots of reasons to get onto Juicy Stakes. In addition to chances to win your way to Nottingham or St Maarten, the operator is offering a 200% first deposit bonus up to $1,000 with the bonus code 1000JUICY.

There are also ways to convert gold coins to cash with a Non-Deposit Bonus, a reload bonus, and big regular games on the schedule like the weekly $10k guaranteed Sunday Myriad.

As much as we’re proud of maintaining our daily quest as we sift through masses of information to share with fans of real money online poker the best deals and advice we can muster, seeing actual Bricks & Mortar PokerListings tournaments taking place and in the pipeline brings with it a sense of great pride and satisfaction.

For example, budding poker whizzes can take part in our €30,000 PokerListings Ranking Series which has monthly fixtures in Malta until April and in which a €550 seat to the Main Event of The Festival Malta (15-21 May, 2023) and a €250 seat in the PokerListings Deepstack Championships during said event are up for grabs.

Meanwhile, there’s another tournament with our name on it coming up before then in the form of the PokerListings Championships – and you can win a £510 package by hitting the satellites at GGPoker

Being the PokerListings Champion has a nice ring to it, so note the dates for the tournament: 12-15 February at the famous Dusk Till Dawn poker room in Nottingham, England, being part of the first ever edition of The Festival in the UK.

The buy-in is £120, but each of GGPoker’s qualifiers, which take the format of $20 rebuys and which will be held every Wednesday until 8 February, guarantees at least one £510 package. This includes the buy-in to the PL Ch as well as three nights (13-16 February) in a hotel for the winner and a guest!

There’s a rather macabre saying that goes ‘there’s more than one way to skin a cat’ and, as far as players getting their hands on one of the remaining $30,000 PokerStars Platinum Passes goes, PokerStars came up with a nice touch when awarding a lucky player the magic ticket to the upcoming PokerStars Players NL Hold’em Championship (PSPC). This megabucks event will take place in the exotic and luxurious surroundings of the Baha Mar resort in the Bahamas, from 30 January – 3 February, and the latest name added to the start list is that of US player, Matt Glassman, who took part in a great promo hosted by PokerStars Ambassador Jennifer Shahade…

The poker and chess expert held a competition that was open to players across both the US and Canada, the aim being to invite players to submit their most formative or memorable poker hand. This could feature strategy, drama, humour … essentially anything that would grab the attention of and suitably impress the panel of judges – Sam Grafton, Maria Ho, Mark Foresta, Keith Becker, Alex O’Brien and Brad Willis – who would then choose a winner.

A total of 70 entrants sent in video, audio and written submissions, which were then narrowed down to a final six:

  • James Tedrow
  • Davis Harari
  • Nicole Pamela Cervenka
  • Matt Glassman
  • Dan Schill
  • Lisa Gjaltema

Once the dust had settled, a special episode of Jennifer Shahade’s The Grid announced the winner, with Matt Glassman, a senior fellow at Georgetown Affairs Institute, bagging the much sought-after prize for his Jack-Three Offsuit and the Monster Ballad Poker Game entry.

Here’s what Maria Ho had to say about the promo and the ultimate winner: “All the finalists were spectacular! I thoroughly enjoyed reading/watching them all! Very tough to choose among them, but happy to be a part of making someone’s poker dream come true!”

Given the value of the prize, it’s a dream come true indeed for any poker tournament fan. The $30,000 Platinum Pass includes:

  • $25,000 buy-in to the PSPC
  • Six nights in a 5-star hotel for the winner and a guest
  • $1,900 for expenses
  • Airport transfer
  • Platinum Pass winner experiences during the event

If this isn’t inspiration to cherish the ups and downs of our poker quest, then nothing is!

*Any mention of a bonus or discussion of such terms is not in relation to the province of Ontario.

Not surprisingly, perhaps, a key reason why we’re so dedicated to providing our poker-loving community with as much news and info as possible about the exciting world that is real money online poker is that we love the game, too. If we didn’t share our players’ passion we wouldn’t be here!

It’s exactly because of this that we want to maximise our involvement in poker generally, and why, for example, we’re now hosting our monthly €30,000 PokerListings Ranking Series in Malta.

Continuing the theme, we’re proud to announce the Pokerlistings Championships, which will take place during the hotly anticipated and first ever UK leg of The Festival in Nottingham. This extravaganza will be held at the excellent Dusk Till Dawn poker club between 13-19 February.

The key dates for the £120 buy-in Pokerlistings Championships are 12-15 February, but we have something special ready for you! Thanks to a collaboration with partypoker there will be weekly qualifiers with bumper packages up for grabs each worth £510. The package includes the buy-in to the PL Championship plus three nights (13-16 February) in a hotel for two people!

The first satellite will be held this Thursday (12 January), so clear your diary and get stuck in…

The Festival Series in Nottingham.

As for The Festival Nottingham itself, the event schedule is jam-packed, with action guaranteed. Note that this won’t be limited to the poker tables alone (the £450 buy-in Main Event will be held 15-19 February) – not only will there also be Roulette and Blackjack Tournaments, but The Festival prides itself on laying on all sorts of activities away from the tables… be there, or be square.

Juicy Stakes is proud to say they have one of the leading Rakeback offers. Players will get 36% credit once every week. Read about it and know why Juicy Stakes is boasting about their Rakeback.

Rakeback in Poker

Offering Rakeback by online poker sites started in 2004 as part of their offers whenever poker players engage in Cash Games or pay Tournament fees. There are various ways of calculating the amount of Rakeback in cash games. These are the dealt, contributed, and progressive methods. For the dealt method, the same amount of Rakeback is given to every player. In contrast, the contributed method offers Rakeback to players depending on the actual share they placed in the pot. The progressive method is a hybrid of dealt and contributed methods. The percentage of Rakeback is based on the number of hands played. This means the Rakeback percentage increases if the player engages in many hands.

Think of Rakeback as complimentary items and services given to players by land-based casinos. With the popularity of online poker, Rakeback has been used by many online poker players to either increase their profits or cut their losses. The amount of Rakeback that players earn every month depends on the number of tables they play at once and the length of playing real money online poker games.

However, not all poker rooms give Rakeback to their active players. Instead, the affiliates are the ones who offer it as a direct percentage of the entry fees in tournaments.

Rakeback at Juicy Stakes

Juicy Stakes payout Rakeback to their members once a week, which is 36% of the total amount the player has paid through the entire week. It covers the total payment for all Cash Games, Tournaments, and Sit and Go. There is no minimum amount to achieve before receiving the payment. It is a rebate on the rake you have paid as a player. In contrast with poker bonuses, Rakeback at Juicy Stakes never runs out as long as you keep playing online poker games and participating in tournaments.

How Do Juicy Stakes Compute Rakeback?

Juicy Stakes computes Rakeback using their calculator. The Rakeback applies to Cash Games, Tournaments, and Sit and Go games. Account holders in Juicy Stakes can view their Rakeback by logging into their account and checking their profile and VIP status. Poker players may request their Rakeback by emailing Juicy Stakes.

Terms and Conditions

Just like in any online poker room, terms and conditions apply so that players may be able to enjoy their games fully:

  • Players must be at least 18 years old to join.
  • Employees and their immediate family members are ineligible to participate in the promotion of Juicy Stakes, the Horizon Poker Network, and any company associated with them.
  • Juicy Stakes can alter, modify, or terminate the Promotion anytime without prior notice. The Promoter is not responsible or liable for any late or undelivered entries, registrations, notifications, or communications or for any technical problem that may be encountered beyond the Promoter’s control.
  • Juicy Stakes reserves the right to deny or cancel any Rakeback deals depending on the situation.
  • Rakeback players earn Frequent Player Points (FPP) at a slower rate than non-Rakeback players.
  • The Current Loyalty levels will rest when there is a request to change the program.
  • The decision of the management of Juicy Stakes is final.

While it’s true that synergy has been a key aspect of modern business practices for many years, particularly in sectors with a technological side, it’s proven especially useful for poker operators, with the relationship between both real money online poker and the Bricks & Mortar version benefitting tremendously.

GGPoker is certainly up there as one of the most forward-thinking providers, and enjoys its current lofty status thanks to key collaborations forged while carving out a place amongst the major players. The latest partnership sees GGPoker teaming up with the Dublin Poker Festival, which is firmly established as one of Ireland’s most popular and successful live poker events. In a comprehensive qualifying set-up, satellites will be available to the festival header, the European Deepstack Poker Championship as well as the increasingly popular Amateur Championship of Poker. These are just two of a host of events at the festival, which will be held at Dublin’s Bonnington Hotel from 16-26 February.

European Deepstack.

The €570 buy-in European Deepstack will be making its 15th appearance, and with a guaranteed prize pool of €200,000 is well worth the effort for online poker tournament fans looking to try their luck in a live environment. Qualifiers get underway on 9 January and continue until 16 February, with €50  buy-in direct satellites every Saturday and regular Feeders available from €1.

Amateur Championship of Poker.

The Amateur Championship of Poker (ACOP) will run from 16-19 February and boasts a €100,000 guaranteed prize pool and has a €300 buy-in, and here, too, you can take advantage of cheap-as-chips qualifiers. Satellites continue until 30 January, with €30 buy-in direct qualifiers every Monday, and €3 Feeders being held every Monday through Saturday.

Note that as well as the so-called Road to Dublin qualifiers already mentioned, additional routes might subsequently be introduced over the coming weeks.

Given GGPoker is well-known for adding player-friendly features to their tournaments, it should come as no surprise to learn that there will be a bubble insurance facility as well as live mystery bounties, plus GGPoker merchandise and ticket giveaways.

This is an admirable partnership that will see poker further thrive. Angela Martin, UK & Ireland Head of Marketing at GGPoker, had this to say about the collaboration: “We are delighted to announce this partnership with the Dublin Poker Festival and give all GGPoker players the opportunity to win their seats in some of Ireland’s best-loved poker events… With hundreds of thousands in guaranteed prizes to be won and satellites starting from just €1, Dublin will be the place to be in February, and we want as many GGPoker players there as possible!”

Let’s give Brian Lannon of Dublin Poker Festival the final word: “This is a fantastic partnership for Dublin Poker Festival and we look forward to working with GGPoker, giving a wider player base the opportunity to play in this fantastic poker festival. We look forward to building a close partnership with GGPoker and growing our event.”

In 2023, a lot of poker players and poker fanatics will continue to look for other ways to diversify their income. For a lot of poker grinders, putting their money in the crypto markets boomed in 2019/2020 but has suffered a huge downswing as of late – looking for alternative side income options is desired.

A good option in 2023 for poker players could be sports betting – and hear me out.

As a poker outlet for poker-centric minds, we have found a plus-expected value opportunity that you can use through sports betting.

Can You Make Money Through Sports Betting?

The simple answer to whether you can make money through sports betting is simple; with strong emotional control, attitude and patience you can create a side hustle through sports betting.

You should be well aware that having sports betting that is profitable is almost like running a business. There is so much research and admin work required to make sure you are mitigating any potential risk and ensuring you take maximum advantage of any edges available in the market.

There has been a huge growth in sports betting due to the expansion into digital methods but also legislation for new countries and jurisdictions. This means that a lot of sports bettors are not too acquainted with sports betting, and might be viewing as a purely recreational activity, which is completely fine.

If you decide on making a profitable sports betting side income, you should remember these key pieces of advice: be patient and only put in your sports betting budget what you can afford to lose, similar to a poker bankroll.

Patience is key, as profitable sports betting requires a huge amount of dedication, time and patience. These are all key principles as you plan and place your winning bets and keep track of the progress. Only put in what you can lose – whilst sports betting can be a profitable venture in 2023, you should aim to only create a budget to begin with holding funds you can afford to lose.

How to Make Money Sports Betting?

Similarly to poker, sports betting comes down to raw mathematics – if you can understand the maths behind the game, you can gain a huge advantage. Just like in poker where you compliment maths with things like frequencies, reads, ICM and player tendencies, you will put together sports betting with odds, injuries, statistical anomalies and more.

Sports betting with math can be very complex – the mathematical analysis behind creating winning bets is complicated, but managing the process once you find a winning method is pretty simple. If you find that you are winning more than 50% of your bets with the correct wagers and odds, you will be at a minimum of breaking even and can start to turn a profit.

A smart and surefire way to begin winning money through sports betting in 2023 can be done by using a sports betting tool like RebelBetting. This is a smart betting tool that was created by two professional poker players and programmers, which has the sole aim of generating its users a profit through sports betting.

It does this through a sure betting and value betting service – both of which have benefits to how you can make sports betting a side income:

Sure Betting

Placing sure bets is the process of using RebelBetting and making sure you generate a profit regardless of the outcome of the game. The risk is significantly mitigated compared to a value bet, but so is the reward at the end of it.

You can be guaranteed an edge when you take this route, although it is usually around 1%. Sure or arbitrage betting are great for the bettor who wants no risk (aside from the sportsbook voiding the bet) but requires a large amount of dedication to make sure you follow the strategy and planned betting schedule.

Value Betting

When you go down the value betting route, you can actually create an edge of 1-5% long term, and by using RebelBetting you can even find ROI opportunities that exceed 150%. Value bets are more frequent and prominent than sure betting, as there are more EV leaks by sportsbooks that can give you these opportunities.

Whilst this means that there are more opportunities, this can mean that there is equally just as much variance. In poker you will find that you can go through upswings and downswings despite making all the right decisions and getting your money in good – the same can be said for value betting. This is why it requires a set budget or sports betting bankroll that is separate from your living funds.

Get a Month Free on RebelBetting to Make Profit

Thanks to a RebelBetting and PokerListings partnership, you can now get free access to the easiest way you can make money sports betting.

This exclusive opportunity only for PokerListing readers allows 30-days free using the Value Betting Pro tool which can cost €179 – no credit card sign up or anything of the like is needed, just your email address in a sign up and that’s it – you have access to a tool to begin spotting +EV bets and start beating the sportsbook.

RebelBetting. Value Betting ROI.

As mentioned previously in the article, value betting is taking up +EV spots against the sportsbooks – it is a way of gaining a sizeable edge against the bookmakers to get longterm profits while you sports bet, turning this recreational hobby where the big bookmakers are heaping in profits into a side income or investing opportunity, allowing you to turn sports betting into profits.

With the Value Betting Pro tool, you can start to use the sports betting aid on all types of devices and gain a slice of a potential monthly ROI of over 30%. If you have any qualms or doubts about this opportunity, you should know that RebelBetting have a Profit Guarantee – they are so confident that you can put a stake in and get a positive return that if you fail to do in your first month, you will continue to get free months using the tool until you do!

So, there it is: take advantage of RebelBetting’s Value Betting Pro through PokerListings and get a whole month free, gaining an edge against the bookmakers and begin a side income through sports betting today.

There’s something about The Predator as a name for an online poker tournament that grabs the attention. Of course, the point is to do exactly that, and it’s also an apt choice because we don’t need to be geniuses to work out that this popular fixture at partypoker is a Bounty tournament.

Indeed, the specific bounty format is Progressive Knockout (PKO) which, as we know (unless you’ve never come across real money online poker before), is all the rage nowadays. As well as the usual rollercoaster ride that we experience during a standard multi-table tournament, there’s the added potential bonus that we can boost our bankroll each time we eliminate an opponent, meaning we can make a profit without even reaching the main prizes.

The buy-in for The Predator is just $22, and the guaranteed prize pool is $12,500, so there’s plenty to play for. And if at first you don’t succeed, as they say, you can throw your hat in the virtual ring again and again as this tournament runs as a regular fixture, from Monday to Saturday.

Furthermore, like many others for whom The Predator is a poker session fave, you can take advantage of the $2.20 satellites and $0.22 Feeders to get in on the cheap.

partypoker. The Terminator.

If The Predator gets your poker juices flowing, then The Terminator is another one of partypoker’s Daily Legend offerings that will scratch your itch. With an even smaller buy-in ($11), this tournament has the same PKO format and comes with a guarantee of $7,500 – not to be sniffed at for such a modest investment. And, of course, there are plenty of great value satellites.

This should be enough to whet the appetite of any poker fan with a pulse, so hit the tables during the week and be a legend…
