PokerListings to Live Report the Kings of Tallinn

PokerListings to Live Report the Kings of Tallinn

The Kings of Tallinn normally takes place in February. However, due to the COVID restrictions in Estonia at the time, Olympic Park Casino temporarily postponed it until later in the year.

Now the moment many poker players have been waiting for is here as the Kings of Tallinn will make its triumphant return to the luxurious Olympic Park Casino and the adjoining world-class Hilton Tallinn Park from Sept. 12-18, 2022.

PokerListings will be on hand for the first time to cover the Main Event while also providing some highlights for the side events. While this might be a first for PokerListings, it is far from the first for its Live Reporting and English Content Manager Jason Glatzer who has either reported or been the lead commentator for all of the recent Kings of Tallinn action.

Get ready for an amazing schedule designed by one of the most experienced tournament directors in Teresa Nousiainen with 32 numbered events ranging from just €20 for satellites all the way up to €3,000 for the two-day Kings of Tallinn High Roller.

PokerListings to Cover the 2022 Kings of Tallinn €1,100 Main Event

While PokerListings will provide highlights from the side events, its primary focus will be the highlight of the festival in the Kings of Tallinn €1,100 Main Event. The event boasts two opening flights on Sept. 15 at noon at 8 p.m.

The four-day Texas Hold'em tournament provides plenty of play thanks to its amazing structure featuring hour-long blinds throughout the event. The only exception to this rule is for Day 1b, which still boasts very reasonable 30-minute blind levels.

Players start with a healthy stack of 30,000 in chips with both of the opening flights featuring eight blind levels. Players can not only re-enter an unlimited amount of times during each of the opening flights but also during the first two blind levels of Day 2 on Sept. 16.

Players finding a bag on Day 2 will compete for two more days until a winner is crowned on Sept. 18.

Kings of Tallinn Main Event History

The Kings of Tallinn began in 2015 when Estonian poker hero Ranno Sootla defeated a field of 140 entries to win the €37,330 top prize. Since then, Johan Creutz, Matias Knaapinen, Juha Helppi, Vitalijs Zavorotnijs, Johan Karlsson, and Claudio Di Giacomo had their moment in the sunshine after winning the Kings of Tallinn Main Event from 2016 to 2021.

Team Challenge Creates a Vibrant Environment

One of the things that sets the Kings of Tallinn apart from other festivals is its Team Challenge. Players join in groups of four, and if they can't find a team they can get assistance from Nousiainen and her team.

A total of 2% of the prize pool qualifying tournaments (events with at least 12 players that aren't satellites) will go into the Team Challenge prize pool. As you can imagine, this will add up quickly with the top two teams awarded 75% and 25% of the prize pool respectively.

Head to the Kings of Tallinn Team Competition landing page to sign-up for your team along with more details about the contest.

Kings of Tallinn Schedule

The Kings of Tallinn schedule has something for everyone. Not only is there a full catalog of no-limit hold'em events, but players that enjoy other formats will be pleased to learn there is something for them too with plenty of events in other poker variants as well.

Two events PokerListings will keep their eyes open on is two of the new events on the schedule in the €250 Deep Stack Mystery Bounty on Sept. 12-15 and the €660 Mystery Bounty on Sept. 16-17. If you aren't familiar with Mystery Bounty events, we have your back covered. The opening days play like a normal tournament. However, on the second day, a player can earn an envelope for a mystery prize simply by eliminating another player at their table.
