Carlos Ribeiro reached the GGMillion$ final table for the first time. With four players remaining, he combined impressive skill with incredible luck to win GGPoker’s flagship weekly tournament. Here’s how the action unfolded.

The Best Sit-Out Fold in GGMillion$ History

Carlos Ribeiro started the final table with the third-largest stack. He spent the entire first hour folding hand after hand until his VPIP practically froze over.

In the second hour, his stack dropped to 12 BB, but he turned things around in just two hands:

  • KK > J9o vs. Bruno Botteon
  • T9s > 66 vs. Max Buschmann — turned a straight in a 50 BB pot, moving Ribeiro into the chip lead.

Ribeiro Gets a Huge Break in 4-Handed Play

With four players remaining, Ribeiro played two incredible hands where almost any other player could have been eliminated. Luck was clearly on the Brazilian’s side.

The First Hand

Soares opened with K Q , and Ribeiro defended the BB with J 7 .

Flop: 7 J K
Soares c-bet 3.35 BB.

Turn: 8 — 11.7 BB pot
Soares bet 6 BB.

River: Q — 23.7 BB pot
Soares bet 15.8 BB.

Ribeiro thought for about a minute and found the fold.

The Sit-Out Fold

Literally the next hand, Ribeiro picked up TT in the SB, while Soares had KK in the BB.

Ribeiro opened, Soares 3-bet to 12 BB, and Ribeiro took some time to make a decision. Apparently, he forgot to activate his time bank, causing his hand to be folded automatically.

The hand quickly sparked discussion on Twitter. Broadcast guest commentator Beriuzy believes there was no collusion.

After that sequence, Ribeiro shifted gears. He won several small pots, including one where he bluffed Buschmann, and built a chip-leading stack.

Ribeiro entered heads-up against Alisson Piekazewicz with both players holding around 50 BB.

The tournament ended with a preflop all-in A5o > QQ for a 56 BB pot, with an ace hitting the flop.
