Join the Big Names and Be Part of the WPT Global Family

It might be a surprise for many that the World Poker Tour, the leading poker brand and event specialist that has been televising high-stakes games for a good two decades, is such a latecomer to real money online poker in an age when a players’ platform would seem an imperative.

Nevertheless, it’s very impressive to be going so strong regardless and, meanwhile, it’s better late than never... Anyway, despite the fact that WPT Global has been existence only since 2022, it’s already a major force in online poker. A key reason for this, of course, is because it funnels online poker tournament players who qualify via a prolonged, comprehensive satellite set-up through to major WPT events around the globe.

And that’s major in every way, not least the prize pools. For instance, at the recent World Poker Tour World Championship, held at Wynn Las Vegas in December, the massive field of 2,960 registered players saw the already enormous guarantee of $15,000,000 smashed, with the prize fund finally totalling a nosebleed $29,008,000. The eventual winner, Eliot Hudon of Canada, walked away with a life-changing first prize of $4,136,000!

Big Site, Big Plans and Big Names

One of WPT Global’s catchy lines is ‘Where the legendary meets revolutionary’ and, as if to cement this, more power was added to the proverbial elbow when some big names were brought in as ambassadors. Two of the names from this impressive roster are poker legends Doyle ‘Texas Dolly’ Brunson and Phil Ivey, who both happen to be 10-time World Series of Poker bracelet winners. As for the WPT, Ivey does have a win under his belt, but his appearance at nine final tables is amazing. Meanwhile, you don’t have to be a party loving music fiend to have heard of another kind of legend, namely US DJ and music producer Steve Aoki, whose passion for poker has seen him join the above-named Poker Hall of Famers to fly the WPT Global flag.

‘Created by Players, Perfected by Specialists’ is another WPT Global line that other online poker rooms no doubt wish they would have come up with, and this is evidenced in the way players are treated. A worthy touch is how the number of extremely skilled players allowed to sit at each table is limited in order to level the playing field for newer, less experienced players (although this works out well for seasoned pros, too). From Texas Hold'em and Omaha cash games to Sit & Go and multi-table tournaments, it’s important to give everyone a fair crack of the whip...
