The Festival Series 2022: New dates, start in Tallinn in June
The 2022 Festival Series season will now start in Tallinn, Estonia, from 27 June to 3 July 2022, instead of Bratislava in March. The same games, the same concept and the same level of excitement and fun are guaranteed, only with a slight delay.
This decision was made after careful observation of the COVID situation across Europe. Unfortunately, the numbers are still too high to guarantee a safe hosting of the tournament in Bratislava in March. And as has been emphasised time and again since the series started last year, player safety is a top priority. That's why a COVID contingency plan has been in place from the start to protect the participants and ensure that everyone who wants to play in the events has the opportunity to arrive safely.
Players who have won packages for the Bratislava Festival can rest assured that these will also be valid for the Tallinn event. No tickets will be invalidated and no player will be left behind. Players can be assured that they will be able to play in a Festival Series tournament.
The 2022 Festival season will now begin in the Estonian capital Tallinn this summer. The venue will be the Olympic Park Casino near the city centre.
“We want our first event in 2022 to be sensational” says Martin "Franke" von Zweigbergk, who is leading the event organization, “and we believe we can achieve this if we launch the Series at this slightly later date in Tallinn. The pandemic situation in Europe should be significantly better by Summer. After our successful first event last year it feels like a small eternity having to wait until June this year. However, we promise it will be worth the wait.”
Now all attention turns to the festival in Tallinn, which will be the first stop of the 2022 Festival Series season from 27 June to 3 July 2022. Preparations are in full swing to create another memorable tournament after the fantastic inaugural event in Bratislava last year. Further stops on The Festival Series will be announced in due course.
