Biography and Online Beginnings
Margereson is from Chesterfield in the North of England, and his poker career started like many his age, on the online felt. When Margereson was in his early twenties, he pulled off the impressive feat of winning two big WCOOP (World Championship of Online Poker) tournaments in three days in 2014: WCOOP-18: $320 NLHE Turbo Zoom ($400,000 guaranteed) and WCOOP-22 [Sunday Warm-Up SE] $215 NLHE, $1M Guaranteed. He won the Turbo for $106,896.51 and banked a whopping $202,000 from the Sunday Warm Up. The following April of 2015, he banked another major online score, winning the $109 Sunday Million for $194,479. Margereson continues to be a force to be reckoned with online today
Live Career
Margereson is also a presence in live poker. A regular on the circuits of the EPT, WSOP, and WPT, Margereson can be found running deep in big field events across the world. His first major live score came in the States when he was just 25. Already a seasoned online grinder by this point in his career, he had yet to find a major score live. That was until he won the WPT $3,500 No Limit Hold’em at the Seminole Hard Rock in Hollywood, for a career-best score that still stands today of $696,740.
