Play Against the Stars in Global Poker Celebrity Challenge!
I bet we’ve all seen the livestreamed poker sessions where certain pro athletes, musicians, Hollywood stars or other celebrities have featured, and always dreamed about taking a seat at the table our self. Well, thank the lucky stars; we’ve now given a golden opportunity to play against our idols thanks to the Global Poker Celebrity Challenge!
Four Celebrities Battling It Out!
Between the 18th of September and the 13th of November, no less than four famous figures will see the cards flying over the online tables at Global Poker. This quartet will all play heads up against each other to see who can add a poker title to their already impressive resumes.
So, who are these four horsemen? It is truly an interesting line-up we’re dealing with here, folks. For starters, we have world-class music producer DJ Khaled who’s been one of the world’s most recognizable faces in the music industry since the 2010’s. The Miami-raised virtuoso will have to battle it out against Michael Phelps, the American swimmer who, with his whopping 28 (!) Olympic medals is in the discussion of being the greatest athlete of all time.
The complete the line-up, we’re treated with legendary basketball players Paul George and Karl-Anthony Towns. Paul George has marked his spot in the NBA All-star and has an Olympic gold medal and a swarm of more achievements under his belt. Towns represents the Minnesota Timberwolves in the NBA and has three All-Star selections under his belt. He also won the prestigious NBA Three-Point Contest during 2021-22 NBA season.
The four will face off in a series of Heads Up-matches against each other, where the winner of most matches will donate $10 000 to the charity of their choice.

But of course, that’s not all! The Global Poker players will also have their chance to sit around the star-spangled table. A total of four Celebrity Challenge Finals (one hosted by each of the four celebrities) will be played, and Global Poker will host eight Sweeps Coin qualifying events for each one of these. It is through these qualifiers you as a player will have the chance to secure your spot to play against these four prodigies on a 9-handed table. If you manage to defeat the celebrity and the other seven qualified players, you will earn your seat to the Global Poker Celebrity Challenge Grand Final on November 12th, competing for the first price – a unique Ferrari Race Day experience of your choice hosted in North America!
To put the cherry on the top, the four celebrities will face off in the Celebrity Challenge Grand Final on the 13th of November. Whoever wins will be crowned the Celebrity poker king, however, a total of $90 000 will be donated between the top three to charity.
