Igor Pihela Sr. opened for 350,000 with 8 7 from the small blind and was called by Paulius Jusys with J 10 from the big blind.
Pihela Sr. jammed door 2.8 million, more than covering the 1.2 million Jucys had behind after both players flopped an open-ended straight draw on the Q 9 6 flop. Jucys tanked for a couple of minutes before he made the call and was ahead when the chips went in.
Neither the A turn nor the 9 river helped Pihela Sr. and Jucys’ jack in his hand was good enough to double from last place to near the chip lead.
Glen Gains – 3.8 million
Paulius Jucys – 3.2 million
Igor Pihela Sr. – 1.6 million
