Houghton “Quietly” Up to 350K

Level 12: 1,500/3,000 (3,000)
Entries: 96/256

Normally when Kevin Hougton is playing a tournament you can hear him tables away. Today, he would have gone unnoticed as he is being unusually quiet. Regardless he is back to his old tricks at the poker tables and up to around 350,000 in chips.

Houghton shared with us that he was at one point down to 2,000. We will try to get that story another time but that is a pretty sick turnaround.

He just took out Peter de Bruin on a coin flip as follows:

De Bruin open-jammed from early position for about 20 big blinds and was looked up by Houghton.

Peter de Bruin: 4 4
Kevin Houghton: A J

It appeared that de Bruin might make a small dent in Houghton stack after a safe 9 6 2 flop and an equally safe K turn. However, the J river improved Houghton to a better pair to eliminate de Bruin.
