How Not to Suck at Poker: Play in Position (Poker Strategy Video)

Watch this beginner poker strategy video to learn to play in position and make more money playing Texas Hold'em poker.
What is Position?
Even though position is the most important concept in poker it's thankfully very easy to understand.
As Texas Holdem is a "forced-bet" game - meaning two players are required to put money into the pot before the hand is dealt to spur the action - those bets have to rotate around the table.
The standard Texas Hold'em table has 8-10 seats around it. At a casino you'll have a designated dealer throwing you the cards but also have a dealer button that rotates around the player at the tables.
The players to the immediate left of the dealer button are the two players that are required to put the bets - called the small blind and the big blind - into the pot.
The small blind is typically half of the big blind - eg $1/$2. Once the cards are dealt the player to the left of the Big Blind is required to start the action. The big blind is last to act in the first round.
After that, though, the dealer position is then the last to act in each hand - meaning has 'position' over the rest of the players at the table.
The reason why you put position is pretty obvious - you have the most information available to you before you have to make your decisions in the hand.
