In today’s 3-Bet we’ll take a look at Manchester United players trading the pitch for the felt, the scariest trend in poker and best pals Daniel Negreanu and Phil Hellmuth.
1) Hellmuth, Negreanu, Mizzi Have Heart-Warming Weekend
Is it just us or did every well-known poker pro attend a
Chicken Soup for the Soul retreat on the weekend?
Daniel Negreanu broke a mini-hiatus from Twitter on Monday by stating he had an amazing weekend and was going to post a video blog about it soon.
Phil Hellmuth later Tweeted he had the best 45 minute-heart-to-heart talk with Negreanu and that he learned something from Kid Poker.
online poker pro Sorel Mizzi mentioned he had the most powerful and life-changing weekend of his life, to which Negreanu responded, “Proud of you my friend.”
What the heck is going on? Where’s the Howard Lederer hate? Shouldn’t Hellmuth be complaining about a Northern European? Poker is still about making enemies not friends, right?
Check out the individual Tweets below and make your own conclusions about what exactly happened this weekend.
No Pokertox for Lauren Kling.
2) Pokertox Set to Become Most Ridiculous Trend in Poker
A New York-based doctor is now offering Botox packages for poker players looking to hide their tells, according to an article with the
Dr. Jack Berdy is reportedly introducing what he’s calling a “Pokertox”, which uses face fillers to “enhance” a poker player’s face by reducing their ability to display emotions.
Berdy will even target individual problem areas, such as eyebrows, if a poker player requests it.
There are, of course, about a million problems with program including the damage it does to your body, how expensive it is and the fact that tells play a lesser role in the modern game of poker.
It’s difficult to see this one catching on as noted poker players such as
Lauren Kling are already mocking the process on Twitter.
Wonder if you can request the
Phil Ivey scowl? 3) Tony G Teaches Manchester United to Play Poker
What happens when you take six footballers from Manchester United, have Tony G give them a poker lesson, and then have them play a Sit & Go?
This video, apparently.
Party Poker hosted the tournament in partnership with MUTV for charity with Danny Welbeck, Darren Fletcher, Tom Cleverley, Rafael da Silva, Phil Jones and Jonny Evans all taking part.
The video is exceptionally short so it’s hard to tell exactly what’s going on but there appeared to be a very interesting three-way all-in with A-K, A-J and 9-8.
