If the hat returns, we're in.

Today in the 3-Bet we find the GPL barrelling into the playoffs and beyond, CBS Sports launches The Final Table and a chance to win big with Qui Nguyen.

1) They Made It

As you might imagine, planning, starting, building and funding a standalone poker league from scratch is a pretty massive undertaking.

Say what you want about the level of industry/mainstream attention the Global Poker League managed in its first season, you can't deny this:

GPLbracket
Next stop: Playoffs.

It produced 20 weeks of games, 174 online and live matches between 72 of the game's best players (including Aaron Paul!) and qualified 8 teams for next month's playoffs in Las Vegas.

Which, kudos. The hard work of everyone involved, from players and management to the crew and die-hard fans, is much appreciated.

With a return to The Cube for heads-up and, intriguingly, some 3v3 action in an intense 3-day playdown, the GPL playoffs should be an exciting finish to the season.

What's in store after the inaugural GPL champion is crowned? Well, a re-vamped Season 2 based on some of the hard lessons learned in Season 1, says CEO Alex Dreyfus. And a big push into China for 2017, where investors and fans seem ready to push the GPL to new heights.

2) Phil, Antonio, Stapes, Maria & Tuch = Final Table

Is poker about to hit another upswing in the US? As we learned in the 2000s, as goes TV poker so goes introducing new players to the game and driving attendance up at live (and online) card rooms across the nation.

Final Table

We're still waiting on the widespread re-introduction of online poker across the US to really get things moving, but the rise of Poker Central, Poker Night in America, the Heartland Poker Tour and now CBS Sports' new 'The Final Table' show bode well.

What's The Final Table, you ask? A new one-hour series on the CBS Sports Network featuring Phil Hellmuth and Antonio Esfandiari that will air Sunday nights at 11 p.m. ET.

It'll feature "coverage of poker tournaments throughout the United States, complemented by unique insights and analyses from the star-studded announcing team," which includes Hellmuth, Esfandiari, Maria Ho, David Tuchman and EPT Live stalwart Joe Stapleton.

Sounds like a winner. The show will air right after Poker Night in America starting this Sunday, Oct. 30 - parallel to the beginning of the 2016 WSOP November Nine.

If you're flipping around for it, the CBS Sports Network is "available across the country through local cable, video and telco providers and via satellite on DirecTV Channel 221 and Dish Network Channel 158."

3) Buy Up to 1% of Qui Nguyen

Speaking of that looming November Nine ...

According to ICM, it's a deal.

As you might have read in our preview today Las Vegas native Qui Nguyen - second in chips coming in to the final table - told ESPN he considers himself a Baccarat pro. Which is amazing. And very cool.

He definitely showed he had the guts and the game to get to the November Nine and, given his substantial chip stack, is a pretty big favorite to get to one of those deep payout spots.

Want to share in his potential success? He's offering up to a 1% share of his action via poker staking marketplace Stake Kings.

As little as $5 will get you 0.0001%. If you want up to 1%, that'll cost you $39,193.

There's no mark-up and the prices are based off of a simulation using the Independent Chip Model (ICM), so it's a pretty fair estimate of your return.

Then again, anything can happen - especially under the lights and pressure of the WSOP Main Event final table.

Whatever happens it would make for a pretty amazing sweat, though. Check the full details here.
