Daily 3-Bet: Fedor Genius, Big Screen GPL, Doyle = Twitter Troll

Phil Ivey Doyle Brunson
That Doyle Brunson. He'll snipe you.

The PokerListings Daily 3-Bet is the perfect high-octane escape vehicle to get away from a mid-afternoon poker news deal gone bad.

You can always suggest future 3-Bet pieces in the comments section below.

In today’s Daily 3-Bet we’ll take a look at the really, really smart Fedor Holz, GPL on the big screen and Doyle Brunson trolling with the best of them.

1) Fedor Holz’ Genius-Level IQ

German MTT specialist Fedor Holz is a smart guy. That shouldn’t really come as a surprise to anyone.

FedorHolz
Great scarf game too.

But just how smart? Well he dropped this bomb when asked outright what his IQ was during a Plan P interview in Germany:

“Rapidly decreasing. Over the years I have had three or four IQ tests, the first when I was 8 or 9 years, the last when I was 16. I don’t know the exact numbers anymore, but I scored something like 155, 147 and 140 over those tests.”

So Holz at one point had an IQ of 155. Keep in mind that anything over 140 is considered genius or near genius.

Holz believes his IQ is declining, however. Also from the interview:

“But I’m already realizing, my apprehension is dropping over time. Sometimes I’m even angry about myself when it takes me to long to grasp some concepts.”

At least he’s still got poker dialed in with $7.5m in lifetime live tournament earnings.

2) Mercier, Barbour Watch GPL in Style

For the most part the Global Poker League has been a delight over its first couple weeks of play.

Thousands of poker fans have logged on to Twitch via their laptops, smart phones and various devices to check out the action.

That’s cool and all but sometimes you need a little more screen real estate to truly comprehend the nuance of plays by pros like Mustapha Kanit and Olivier Busquet.

Jason Mercier and Natasha Barbour are doing it right:

3) The Texas Dolly Brings the Pain

Doyle Brunson isn’t quite as active in the poker world as he used to be but he’s still good for a world-class barb on Twitter every now and then.

Mike Gorodinsky learned first hand that the 82-year-old Brunson can troll with the very best online antagonists.

Never change, Doyle.
