Daily 3-Bet: Cates Rules, Blom Bank, Gus Clawback

Dan "Jungleman12" Cates

The PokerListings Daily 3-Bet is the rock-solid local credit union still standing after the afternoon poker news banking collapse.

Any suggestions for a future 3-Bet, let us know in the comments.

Today in the 3-Bet we find Dan “Jungleman” Cates sharing his unofficial guide to the unspoken rules of Internet poker, Randy Lew finding the secret home of Viktor “Isildur1” Blom’s bankroll and Gus Hansen beginning the long, slow clawback of his online losses.

1) The “Jungle Book” of Internet Poker

We’ve been sitting on this one for a while to let a few “rules” pile up but it's getting too good to keep under wraps any longer.

Last month Cates tweeted out his plan for a rule book for the "unspoken rules" of Internet poker:

Since, he's been slowly dropping gems on his timeline. Behold:

What we like most? We have no idea what's coming next. For more of Cates' unique perspective, watch our Easy Game mini-doc we shot with him last year in Malta.

2) Nanonoko Discovers Isildur’s Secret Stash

Ever wonder where Internet kingpin Viktor "Isildur1" Blom gets and/or stashes his seemingly infinite bankroll? PokerStars pro Randy “nanonoko” Lew thinks he’s found the secret:

3) Gus Wins $1.6 Million, Stops Bleeding

Gus Hansen
Nice to see a winning day for Hansen.

It's hard not to be a Gus Hansen fan.

He really sort of revolutionized the live game with his high-variance, wildcard style and he's always been one of the most enjoyable players to watch in any format.

Becasue of that style, of course, Gus is particularly susceptible to the odd downswing or two. And it's been a long, bad run online lately.

The last couple of years have been particularly bad as Gus piled up losses on Full Tilt Poker to the tune of about $8 million.

Good news from yesterday, however, was he finally managed to claw some of that money back.

Hansen played a big session of FLO8 and 2-7 Triple Draw against the likes of Isildur, PostFlopAction and KPR16 and came out ahead $1.6 million for his first big win in a long while.

Whether he can build on it/hold on to it is of course the eternal question, but it's good to see at least some black numbers hit Hansen's profile. More on his latest session on highstakesdb here.
