In today’s Daily 3-Bet we’ll take a look at AEjones finding a way to win millions in a game other than poker, Sam Trickett scoring an unusual sponsor and ElkY taking top social honors in a yearly power ranking.

1) AEjones Wins $5m in DFS

Aaron Jones

Former high-stakes poker pro Aaron “AEjones” Jones never won the WSOP Main Event but last night he took down a pretty damn impressive competition in its own right.

Jones won the DraftKings Fantasy Football World Championship last night for a staggering sum of $5,000,000 and a WWE-style belt.

Hundreds of players took part in the contest with the top 200 heading to Las Vegas for the semifinals.

Finishing in the top 10 meant a minimum six-figure payout in what ended up being one of the biggest DFS events ever held.

Jones was actually in fifth place heading into the final round but thanks to a strong performance by Pittsburgh Steeler Martavis Bryant was able to pull off a come-from-behind victory.

Here's Jones taking the $5m check. No big deal:

2) Trickett Signs with Indian Site StarPoker.in

Is Sam Trickett poker’s ultimate free agent?

It sure seems that way sometimes. Trickett has worn Titan Poker, Matchbook, Everest Poker and Poker Ace patches over the span of his career.

Well his latest sponsor may surprise you.

Indian online poker operator StarPoker.in has confirmed that it has signed the famed English high roller.

StarPoker.in is a relatively new poker site that’s focused entirely on the Indian market.

It’s not clear why an Indian poker site decided to sign an English pro but Trickett has always been a popular choice for poker sites.

Trickett is still #1 on the all-time English tournament earnings list with $20.5 million lifetime winnings.

3) PokerStars’ 2016 Social Power Table

Who’s the most influential poker pro?

Daniel Negreanu comes to mind.

Likewise Phil Ivey, Phil Hellmuth and Doyle Brunson.

According to PokerStars’ annual Social Media Power Table its non other than former Starcraft legend and current team PokerStars Pro Bertrand “ElkY” Grospellier.

PokerStars worked with Followerwonk to compile a list of the most “social” poker pros.

ElkY nabbed top honors with a score of 79, which was up eight spots from last year.

Interestingly Liv Boeree was second with a score of 71 and the aforementioned Negreanu was third with 68.

Followerwonk uses a variety of metrics including Twitter, Facebook and Instagram to rank the social influence of individuals.

The two Phils, that would be Ivey and Hellmuth, didn’t make an appearance until 7th (Ivey) and 8th (Hellmuth).
