It’s official: Pennsylvania has accepted its invitation to join the Multi-State Internet Gaming Agreement (MSIGA), becoming the sixth state to embrace shared online poker liquidity. While player pooling is expected to go live sometime in early 2025, this is an overall pivotal move for online poker in the Keystone State.
While it’s certainly been a long time coming, Brazil appears to finally be opening the doors to regulated gambling. Fourteen companies are now fully licensed to operate, with another 58 holding provisional approvals that could become permanent soon. While sports betting is leading the charge, poker in Brazil — a game with a massive following — is still waiting for its moment in the spotlight.

More often than not, poker isn’t just about what happens on the felt — sometimes, the action can also unfold in the courtroom. That’s exactly where poker pro Scott Ball and ACR Poker CEO Phil Nagy find themselves after a dispute over millions in unpaid influencer fees. Ball, who owns End Game Talent, LLC, filed a lawsuit on December 23 in San Diego Superior Court, alleging breach of contract, defamation, and more. With claims totaling $30 million, this legal battle has all the makings of a headline-grabber.
Ohio’s hopes for legalized online poker are slipping away as Senate Bill 312 (SB312) inches toward expiration without so much as a ripple in the legislature. The bill was originally introduced in September this year by State Senator Niraj Antani, aimed at bringing online poker and other forms of iGaming to the Buckeye state. But with little fanfare and even less action, it’s clear SB312 never really stood a chance.
PokerListings was invited by the World Poker Tour to participate in the WPT World Championship at the Wynn Hotel/Casino in Las Vegas. December is one of the most anticipated months when it comes to live poker tournaments in the world. With the EPT running in Prague and the WSOP running in the Bahamas, it was the World Poker Tour that returned to the poker capital of the world — Las Vegas. On the contrary, last year when the WPT World Championship Main Event had $40,000,000 guaranteed as the prize pool, this year it was chosen to proceed without a guarantee instead.

Despite not having a guarantee, a whopping number of 2,392 entries were made across three starting flights at the beautiful Wynn Hotel/Casino on the famous Strip of Las Vegas. It resulted in a hefty total prize pool of $23,441,600, with over $3M for the first prize. These numbers didn’t differ too much from the previous year, making this year’s edition a great success.
In a previous article, you could already read what happened all the way up to the final heads-up match between American pride Scott Stewart and his tough opponent from the United Kingdom, Rob Sherwood. Both had maneuvered themselves first to the final three players, where a deal had been made alongside 3rd place finisher Eddie Pak. Before they started the heads-up, already 69 hands had been played on this final day of the event.

It’s not every day that a European Poker Tour (EPT) stop gets canceled, so when the news broke about EPT Paris 2025 being called off, it sent ripples through the poker world. Players had barely finished celebrating record-breaking numbers at EPT Prague when PokerStars announced the cancellation, citing unresolved licensing issues in France. For many, the decision was a shock — Paris had quickly cemented itself as a fan favorite after its debut earlier this year.
PokerStars’ Associate Director of Live Events, Cédric Billot, recently addressed the situation, offering insight into what happened and what it means for the tour moving forward. While Paris is off the calendar for now, Billot’s message was clear: the City of Light hasn’t seen its last EPT, and PokerStars is already looking ahead to what’s next.

The eliminations came quickly early in the day. Andrea Dato, hailing from Italy, finished in 14th place. After Chris Moorman opened to 600,000, Dato moved all in with 9 9 , only to run into Anže Šmajd’s J J . The board didn’t offer Dato any help, and his pocket nines fell to Šmajd’s jacks, earning him $215,000 for his efforts.

WPT World Championship – Day 4
The remaining 61 players have returned to the ballroom, prepared for another exciting day of poker action. The stage is set and beautiful as always, and the chips are ready to be exchanged throughout the day with every remaining player. It’s time to shuffle up and deal!
Play kicks off today in Level 23, with blinds at 40,000/80,000 and a big blind ante of 80,000. The plan is to battle through 90-minute levels until the field narrows down to the final 16 players across two tables.
Chris Moorman knows exactly how it is to play for the 4th day of this event, as he managed to reach the final table during the edition of 2023, where he scooped a nice $2,1M prize money. It doesn’t come as a surprise as he is one of the all-time online heroes. Isaac Baron, another player who played himself to eternal respect by shining at the virtual tables, also comes back with a reasonable stack. Sadly for Baron, he busted out of the tournament in 50th place, good for $75,000. We won’t give you more spoilers, for that you really would have to watch the stream.

Michael Berk, who has over $1M in live tournament cashes, is leading the pack. You can easily conclude that he is on a hot streak in this series as he managed to cash already in three tournaments (ClubWPT Freeroll, WPT Mystery Bounty, and WPT Prime). For Joshua Lisberger this opportunity is one which might just be a big game-changer in his poker career as he just earned €12,336 until this tournament. All remaining players have already pocketed $59,000, and they will be playing for the following top prizes:
| Place | Prize |
|---|---|
| 1 | $3,138,900 |
| 2 | $2,075,000 |
| 3 | $1,550,000 |
| 4 | $1,150,000 |
| 5 | $875,000 |
| 6 | $665,000 |
| 7 | $515,000 |
| 8 | $400,000 |
