Karl-Anthony Towns to Star in Global Poker Celebrity Challenge Round 2
The Celebrity Challenge over at Global Poker is ready to go into round 2, seeing as round 1 starring basketball star Paul George being finished a couple of days ago. From one legendary basketball icon to the other, it is now Karl-Anthony Towns turn to take his seat at the online poker tables over at Global Poker. Not only will we be treated with an entertaining Heads Up-match between aforementioned Towns versus swimming prodigy Michael Phelps, but all the poker players at Global Poker will also have the chance to play against the Minnesota Timberwolves anchor in a series of Sweeps Coin tournaments.
Challenge Towns for the Money
Between the 3rd-10th of October, all the Global Poker players will be able to take their seat at any of the eight Sweeps Coin Qualifiers. Not only will the participators play for the chance to win a chunk out of the prize pool and exclusive merchandise from Global Poker signed by Towns himself. The lucky one to win each qualifier online poker tournament will also secure his or hers spot to the Karl-Anthony Towns Celebrity Challenge Final, a 9-handed table which will be played on October 12th. All the qualifiers as well as the final will start 20:30 ET, and the qualifiers will have a 3.3 Buy-in.

Towns himself is more than ready to take on the qualified challengers on the final table:

Towns VS Phelps
Except for displaying his poker skills to the Sweeps Coin Qualifier contestants, Towns will also treat us with a series of entertaining Heads Up-matches against 23 time Olympic Gold-medalist and swimmer Michael Phelps! Not only will this be a fun watch, but the winner of the challenge will also donate $10 000 to the charity of their choice.
As previously mentioned, Paul George was the first person to face players in the Celebrity Challenge, making Towns second in line. The fun will not stop after October 12th, seeing as both Phelps and music virtuoso DJ Khaled will host their respective celebrity challenge during October and November, with the same concept as Towns’ and George’s editions.
When the last celebrity, DJ Khaled, has concluded the four challenges, Global Poker will finish the whole series with a bang – one grand final for the celebrities, and one for the Global Poker finalists. The players’ grand final will be played on November 12th, with a Ferrari Race Day in North America at stakes. The players winning each celebrity’s final challenge will be those qualifying for the grand final.
The four celebrities themselves will play against each other the 13th of November. The top three winners will donate $90 000 dollars together to charity.
