PokerListings Scholarship Program

In light of online poker’s current status in the United States, is initiating our first-ever scholarship to award one poker enthusiast part of a semester’s tuition at an accredited US university.

Online poker is now legalized in the US in just three states: New Jersey, Nevada and Delaware.

California, Pennsylvania and New York are well into the discussion in their respective states but political posturing and tribal in-fighting is making for slow progress.

It’s a far cry from the booming industry online poker was in the prior decade. And it’s far from the tax-revenue creating, job-producing, healthy industry it could be.

Given the widespread acceptance of racetracks, state lotteries, scratch cards, March Madness brackets, Daily Fantasy Sports and varied forms of gambling available to Americans of legal age every day, it’s incongruous that online poker is still stuck in this purgatory.

Some say it's time for that to change; others still oppose. We want your input on the matter.
