Sports Betting Tips: Atalanta – Juventus (Feb 13th)
Juventus overtook Atalanta after the last round and are now in the all-important fourth place. Atalanta may have one game less played but now they get the chance to do battle with each other in a fierce battle for the CL places!
It's a bit tricky to take this game now considering that both teams have cup games Thursday. However, the teams' form curves are pointing in completely different directions.
La Dea has been feeling sluggish of late and the loss to Cagliari this weekend is of course a real blot on the record but in all honesty the game before against Lazio was just as bad in terms of performance. Atalanta need to find their way back to their innovative and pacy attacking play which I think has been lacking of late but that's probably easier said than done.
Their striker Duvan Zapata has picked up a long term injury, Luis Muriel is not in any super form, Ilicic is out for a long time due to his mental health, Gosens has gone to Inter and now good advice is starting to get expensive. As if all this wasn't enough, their star goalkeeper Musso is also suspended here after picking up a red against Cagliari.
Atalanta reinforced with Jeremie Boga in January. We'll see what he can contribute but I don't think he'll make any major changes in a short time.
Atalanta coach Gasperini has a few reasons to scratch his head and although I both hope and believe they sort this out, it's not likely to be until this weekend.
I guess the most relevant things have already been said about Juventus ahead of the cup match. Zakaria stepped off injured and I haven't read anything further about his injury so we'll see if he's ready for the weekend. On the other hand, fullback Chiellini is confirmed to be out until March as he sustained a calf injury.
It could be interesting to see how Juve tackle Sassuolo in the cup match as Atalanta also rely a lot of their play on pace in attack. However, Atalanta, when they are in battle, do it better and can keep the pace during longer attacks but as I said, there are similarities that could give good clues ahead of this weekend match. However, there is a risk that the performance further confirms my picture and the odds drop, hence I choose to take the bet already.
As you have understood by now, I think it will be a kick-off for Juventus to work their way home the CL spot and possibly interfere in the battle for the Scudetton. Atalanta have a bunch of really bad performances behind them and I find it hard to see any clear reason or tendency for them to reinvent themselves for this game. On the contrary, it comes with some pressure that risks blocking them further.
Say what you will about Juventus but the team's historic winning instinct is not in question and Vlahovic may well come to personify it going forward. With that mentality, you like chances like this, you look forward to shining, you win games like this!
I've even considered games over 2.5 but Atalanta have felt so cold going forward so 0-2 seems a bit too likely for me to want to go that route. My chosen bet also pays higher dividends so even if it's 1-2 etc I'm happy.
