What should you do? Correct Answer: This bet is designed to be a blocking bet. You don't want to check here and have your opponent dictate the bet size. Betting small on the river establishes a decent bet that you can hopefully see a showdown for. If you are raised, you’re most likely beat and you can safely fold. If you check, your opponent may get it into his head that he can bluff you, and any decent-sized bet on the river puts you in a difficult spot. This small bet should take that thought out of his head.
