Fortune Wheel Spin to Win

In the world of marketing, a name can make a vital difference, and in the early years of real money online poker it was important for the industry to have significant and memorable stories to whet the appetite of poker fans.

One such fortuitous event came in 2003, when online poker was still in its infancy. A talented amateur player turned an $86 satellite into a World Series of Poker Main Event win in Las Vegas, catapulting him on to the all-time money list in one go and, at the same time – due partly to his name – becoming a legend. This was, of course, Chris Moneymaker – if there was ever a dream name that could put online poker on the global map, this was it.

Twenty years later, and Chris Moneymaker has enjoyed a rewarding poker career, and today he is one of an elite team of Americas Cardroom ambassadors. The famous ACR Pro has always been a player favourite, embodying as he does the everyman (and everywoman!) ethos of the game in that it gives anyone, regardless of their background and whatever the size of their bankroll, opportunities to hit the poker bigtime.

Of all players, Moneymaker certainly appreciates his journey and, with this in mind, he would like to see others share his experience. Announcing Americas Cardroom’s upcoming Weekly Leaderboard Competition which, true to form for this excellent online poker operator, will guarantee $1,000,000 in prizes!

How It Works

As is often the case with ACR, this is a meaty promotion. Half of the $1M will be set aside for the participants of the Weekly Leaderboard Competition, which runs from 11 March to 28 May, and the other half will go to players in the Final Tournament (4-5 June). Win this great online poker tournament and you can have a summer of buy-ins at Las Vegas thanks to the $100,000 prize on offer.

And there’s more – there’s also a $15,000 all-expense paid package to play in the world’s most prestigious poker tournament up for grabs. Could you follow in Chris Moneymaker’s footsteps?

As for the Final Tournament, make a note in your diary for Day 1 on Sunday, 4 June, while Day 2 is on Monday, 5 June (both at 1:30pm ET). Note that as a tribute to Chris Moneymaker, each will cost $86, but players can qualify for much less via a bankroll-friendly satellite set-up!

All players earning points during any of the 13 Weekly Leaderboard Competitions qualifies for Final Tournament chips, with 1 point earning 1 chip carried forward.

Moneymaker 2.0 Leaderboard.

Earning points couldn’t be easier! Taking part in any of the 13 Weekly Leaderboard Competitions is enough for 2,000 points, regardless of finishing position, and players can also earn points based on their overall finish in each event. Finally, participating in all 13 and you’ll be rewarded with a 10,000 points bonus!

The last leaderboard competition takes place on 28 May, after which all points will be converted into chips for the Final Tournament. The more weekly competitions you take part in, and the more success you have, the bigger your starting stack…

It’s a testament to real money online poker that, for many, it’s the only version of the game most poker fans have ever experienced. With some excellent online poker rooms offering everything from Texas Hold’em and Omaha cash tables to Sit & Go games, multi-table online poker tournaments and more, there’s a feast of poker to be had at our fingertips.

Having said that, if you’ve never experienced live poker, you’ve been missing out, so with that in mind, here’s the latest about the European Poker Tour (EPT), the prestigious collection of big money poker festivals from PokerStars in their bid to make ‘tour’ poker available to all.

The latest EPT spectacular is currently being held in Paris at the Hyatt Regency Paris Étoile, the city’s tallest skyscraper hotel. Continuing until 26 February, this is the first time the tour has hit the French capital, despite having visited many times over the years. You can get a feel as to what to expect at EPT events by following the action in Paris via the Blog at PokerStars Learn where, amongst other things, you can find all sorts of resources to help improve your game.

PokerStars EPT Paris.

As an indication of how much money is paid out at EPT events, one of the protagonists in Paris this week is Jordan Saccucci who, just before Christmas, bagged the top spot in the EPT Prague Main Event (the 2022 closer) for a cool €913,250… In a record-breaking field of 1,267 entries, the total prize pool was €6,144,950 -and the great news for poker fans is that you can qualify for EPT events in 2023 via a comprehensive satellite set-up at PokerStars!

Regardless of the size of your bankroll, simply log on to PokerStars, check out the qualifiers and you’ll find out how to earn your way to EPT events at bargain basement prices. And here’s the mouth-watering schedule for this year:

  • Monte Carlo, 26 April to 6 May
  • Barcelona, 21 August to 3 September
  • Cyprus, 11-22 October
  • Prague, 6-17 December
Join football legend Neymar Jr at the EPT poker tables

Incidentally, by prestigious, we mean exactly that. EPT events are not just frequented by some of the world’s best poker players alongside ambitious qualifiers and other recreational players, attracted by the prospect of fame and life-changing sums of money. You’ll also find the likes of Neymar Jr, one of the planet’s greatest football players! You might know him as a mercurial forward for Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) or a kingpin of the mighty Brazilian national team, but he is, in fact, a keen and talented poker player.

Paris isn’t his first rodeo, as they say, as he has been enjoying the action at EPT stops for a number of years, often alongside his former Barça teammate Gerard Piqué. Poker truly is a global favourite…

With that in mind, you can make the most of the latest online poker bonuses available in our info section. Good luck at the tables, and have fun!

Saturday 19th of February, the day that Day 2 of The Festival Series was going to be played out until there were eight players left, which meant that it would be the Official Final Table. Before we reached to that point, we would need to play down from 91 players. With names such as Sascha Manns, the brothers Jonatan and Oskar Wedde, Dimitri Dudakov, Gatis Reigass, Vincenzo Lupoli and Leo Sigurdsson, It promised to be a true spectacle. Partly because the blinds were at such a level that many players would eventually find the Waterloo if they did not act quickly. We were there from the first to the last minute with PokerListings and will try to paint the best possible picture of this grueling day of play.

Early chipleaders struggle to keep hold of their chips

In the early stages we saw that German poker-pro Sascha Manns boosted his stack up in the air by winning a big all-in with Ace-Queen, eventually hitting two pair. He would eventually go bust with the Final Table in his sight at place 15. Sadly for him it wouldn’t be the third final table of the Main Event back-to-back of this event. He would take home 2,500 for his efforts. Glenn Wilson, another familiar face of this event here in Nottingham, had a huge stack at some point, but not much later he was doomed to survive and eventually lost all of his chips fairly quickly. One player who did eventually hold his early big stack was Endrit Geci, he managed to play himself to the final 8. We have seen many aces passing by, but the hand of A.V. was the biggest one of the day. Sadly for him, one hand later he got again aces and lost a huge chunk of his stack as his opponent made a flush with 5 6 .

Streamers Paradise

This of remaining players at the start of the day consisted out of many professional poker streamers. You had Oskar ‘Deckflow’Ojaveer, who busted out as the first one of the day. The brothers Jonatan and Oskar Wedde (WeddePoker) and Gatis Reigass. Reigass who catapulted himself to the chiplead at some point, but not soon later was fighting for his tournament life:

Sadly, but true. The Latvian dream for Gatis Reigass to win the Main Event of The Festival Series has finished. We saw him having the chiplead not even too long ago with 11M in chips, but he seemingly had blown up his stack as he was down to just 800,000 in chips. He did manage to double it up first with Kings, but one hand later he had shoved all-in, when the button and SB had completed the blind. The button threw his cards into the muck, but the SB in the likes of Ali Ayub made the call.

Ayub: A 2

Reigass: A 3

Ayub was mentioned a 3 would appear on the board, which it eventually did. But it was the wrong 3 for Reigass as it made a Flush for Ayub. We say ‘Au Revoir’ to the flamboyant Optibet guy from Latvia, Gatis Reigass.

Dutch and Estonian Power

Mark van der Voorden, an extremely kind personality from The Netherlands, qualified himself through Unibet not too long ago. Now, he is living the true poker dream here in Nottingham. He was hanging around the 10/15 big blind mark for a long time, but it all mattered about the ending. He was taking big pots every orbit so to say. And he ended the day with 19,675,000 in chips. Which is good for 39 big blinds. He was also responsible for reaching the unofficial final table by knocking

out Samual Deering. The chipleader of the final table with 38,225,000 and a massive domination over the other players, is Estonian’s hope Dmitri Dudakov. With nine players remaining he extend his chiplead by sending A.V. home by winning with his pocket eights against the 8-9 suited from A.V. It catapulted him to an even bigger lead. Dudakov came in the lead with 20 players remaining and will for sure try to dominate the final table to take home the first prize to Estonia. One partical hand stays in our memories, which can also be read in The Festival Nottingham liveblog of PokerListings:

The local hero Ali Ayub fully deserved to run deep in this tournament as he was playing extremely well throughout the whole tournament. Unfortunately for him, the poker gods were thinking differently about this and send him home in 17th place.

Sunday, the livestream will be THE place for all viewers to follow the final table of the Main Event of The Festival Series at the Dusk Till Dawn Pokerclub in Nottingham. Make sure to spread the word and we hope you will enjoy the event as much as we do. It has been an epic ride this week and we are positive it will end with a big bang. Here are the final table contestants:

The Festival Nottingham Main Event Final Table live blog capture

Rise and shine Ladies and Gentleman. Yesterday, at 12:00 GMT it was the start of Day 1B here at The Festival Series in Nottingham. The Dusk Till Dawn PokerClub is the place to be in the UK at the moment, as the Mixed Games Extravaganza is in full glory throughout the whole week. On the first starting day the Main Event attracted 129 players, of which 19 players remained. On day 1B however, there were a total of 138 players. We were going to play down to 21 players and it was going to be promised to be a day full of action.

Day 1B of Main Event

Big names turned up to play Day 1B, and oh boy, did we look forward to this one. German poker pro Sascha Manns, Optibet Twitch-streamer Gatis Reigass, ACR-Stormers Oskar Ojaveer, Daniel Palsson and Neil Edwards, a lot of names turned up for this event. And they were all looking to bag for day 2 today.

A lot of female players also found their way to this starting flight and one of them was Anna Malmi, a friend of The Festival Series, as we saw her already during every previous stop. Eventually she didn’t make it to the next day, but we would like to mention a hand she was involved in:

Anna Malmi at The Festival Nottingham

We arrived at table 15 where Anna Malmi is showing ff her poker skills. One table next to her Greger Larsson, partner in crime, is sitting. Malmi called from the button a raise to 5,000 from the CU. Also both of the blinds came along, one of them is ACR-Stormer Neil Edwards, aka TwinnyPoker.

After the flop was dealt with showing K Q 10 , it was the CU who continued for 12,500. Malmi was not convinced and made it 25,000 to go, on which the blinds went out of the way. Attila Erdei, who was the man behind the CU, decided to complete to be able to see a turn. After checking the action, Malmi fired 35,000 and Erdei quickly folded.

Dutch Courage

Mark van der Voorden at The Festival Nottingham
Mark van der Voorden

Mark van der Voorden, Qualified for this event through one of the many satellites on Unibet, managed to get a bag as well today. Although it didn’t went easily for him:

I just spoke to fellow Dutchman, Mark van der Voorden. He told me he had lost a 450k pot. His opponent chucked in all of his chips on a J-3-3 flop with pocket 7s, Van der Voorden was holding the Aces, but sadly for him one of the remaining 7s appeared on the river. Tough game sometimes..

Later stages of the day

During the later stages of the day we had to say goodbye to Oskar Ojaveer from Estonia, Dutchman Bas Silvius, another qualifier from Unibet. And many more players who didn’t find a way to accumulate chips to survive the day decently. When the later stages appeared, we saw familiar names chipping up in the likes of Sascha Manns, Gatis Reigass, Mark van der Voorden, Marian Dumitrache and Vincenzo Lupoli. They all advanced to the next round and will have plenty of time left today to either wonder around in the city, or to play any of the many side events. Today it’s time for day 1C, and the turbo flight day 1D! PokerListings is already at the pokerclub to provide you with information about all the action.

Reigass ends strong

Gatis Reigass, better known as ‘The Optibet Guy’, went through as 3rd in chips, which he hoped for of course. He mentioned at the beginning of the day that he wanted to end the day with two million in chips and that’s what he did. In the last hand of the day he took a big pot to catapult himself into the top-3 of the day.

888poker is going all-in on the Mystery Bounty format with a huge festival from Feb 19 – Mar 7 that features all mystery bounties, all the time.

It’s no secret that 888poker is excited about the mystery bounty format. The operator was one of the early adopters of the hottest new format in tournament poker and after a hugely successful test run that saw the $100k guarantee nearly doubled, Mystery Bounty games spread across the schedule.

There are now daily Mystery Bounty games running throughout the day on 888poker. Daily games start at just $1 to get in and go up to $109 with Sunday games getting juiced-up guarantees. Now the operator is going all-in on the format with a tournament series with nothing but Mystery Bounty games

There is more than $2 million guaranteed across the two-week series with 30 different numbered events plus numerous daily side events. The Main Event will be the big game to watch for – not only does it have the biggest guarantee of the series at $300k, it clocks in as one of the best-value games in the whole series.

Main Event action kicks off with the first Day 1 flight on Mar 1 and Day 2 play scheduled for Mar 6. Bounties in the Main kick in at the start of Day 2, so as was true with the recent XL Winter Main Event, which played as a Mystery Bounty game and saw one player bank the seventh biggest payday without even cashing after nabbing a $15k bounty before busting out of the money, it’s possible some players will bag big scores even before the money spots.

In what looks to be the first series of its kind in the online poker space, the $2 million guaranteed Mystery Bounty Festival on 888poker will feature nothing but the mystery format. There are 30 featured games running from Feb 19 through Mar 7 as well as numerous side events every day.

The series gets going on Feb 19th with one of the highest-value games in the whole series. The opening game in the festival is MB Festival #01 – $20,000 Mystery Bounty Opening 11 with a $20k guarantee for just $11. That puts about $2k into the prize pool for every dollar of buy-in, tied for the second-best value across all 30 events.

As is often the case, the best value is found near the bottom of the buy-in ranges. The highest-value games this time are two $5.50 games with $15k guaranteed for $3k in guarantees for every buy-in dollar. Those two games run Feb 26 and Mar 5 starting at 19:00.

In addition to the opening game, there are three other games with $2k in value spread throughout the series. Most of those $2k games are $11 buy-ins with $20k guaranteed but one of the four games is the Main Event with $300k guaranteed.

  1. Qualify via satellites to the Main Event for as little as $0.01.
  1. Win a Main Event ticket in a Gift Drop

The Stream Team and ambassadors will have tickets to give away, and 888pokerTV will also be streaming several final tables throughout the series, with tickets up for grabs during the broadcasts.

  • 7 Mar - MB Festival Main Event Final Table – $300,000 GTD

It’s no mystery what has made this the hottest new format in poker – the chance for big bounty prizes. Players in the Main Event will all be dreaming of the $30k big bounty, but there are also two $9k bounties and six $3k bounties in addition to other chances to win big in the marquee game.

Even in the cheapest games for $5.50, one lucky player will win $1,500 later in the game, so no matter what size of game a player is looking for, there will be the chance to win huge prizes. The series opens on Feb 19th with one of the highest-value games of the whole series, so the action will be hot right from the start.

Ironically, because poker is such a fun game – not least because as well as the entertainment factor we can win cold, hard cash! – it’s very easy to slip into ‘play only’ mode, and not take time out to learn and improve. The world of real money online poker is full of such underachievers. In fact, this bad habit is not at all limited to new and inexperienced players, rather it’s a frame of mind that everyone can easily drift into. Fortunately for those sensible would-be winners amongst you, PokerStars is here to help you along the way to poker stardom…

Always playing and never putting time aside away from the tables to work on our game (from those who did) is what holds back so many players. However much talent you have, believing that you can’t learn from others is a very foolhardy attitude to have. This is the same whether you’re into Texas Hold’em or Omaha cash, Sit & Go games or online poker tournaments there’s no short cut to success.

Top players are top players because they recognise their limitations as well as the fact that poker is something that always offers room for improvement. Moreover, what might be considered a useful strategy now might be reassessed down the line and be deemed less effective. This is relevant to all games and sports that evolve over time. Quite simply, if we have even the most modest ambitions about poker, we can’t afford to either not learn as much as we can, or get left behind after putting in minimal effort…

PokerStars has a wide-ranging ‘Learn’ feature that affords any player wishing to be a force at the virtual tables an opportunity to achieve exactly that. Jumping into their excellent Courses opens up an impressively varied selection of multi-lesson courses for players at different stages of their poker career. Learn about fundamentally important concepts, tournament strategy, cash games and even specific formats such as Spin & Go (where a lot of money can be won for a tiny outlay…).

PokerStars multiple tables.

And there’s more! You’ll also find a Poker Strategy section that features literally dozens of articles by world-leading players on all manner of poker subjects, many aspects of which you might even never have considered, but will then find invaluable.

So – have fun at the tables at PokerStars, but don’t forget to take time out to do yourself justice by learning and improving!

*Any mention of a bonus or discussion of such terms is not in relation to the province of Ontario.

In just over a week’s time, PokerListings will be holding an exclusive online poker tournament on operating giant 888poker’s client, allowing you to play on some fantastic poker software and call yourself a PokerListings Champion.

When Is the PokerListings 888poker Tournament Happening?

Happening on February 25 at 20:00 CET, you can get involved in a fantastic structure with the chips flying all over the online felt.

We are holding this event in the 6-max format, which is renowned for driving more action with less players at the table – if you are going to scoop the prize at the end, you are going to have to widen your opening ranges and not be afraid to build up some pots.

Each player will start with 3,000 chips, and there will be rebuy and add-ons available for those who bust early or want to play a bit deeper. The add-on will net you an extra 5,000 chips, giving you plenty of maneuverability during the early stages of the tournament.

Late registration will be available for 90 minutes, giving players who enjoy playing a push-or-fold strategy the ability to dive in late and double up if they choose. Rebuys and add-ons are capped at two per player, so pick wisely when you decide to put your tournament life on the line!

The total buy-in is $10, with the add-on also being $10 – the most intelligent move would be to reg early and buy the add-on, giving you a mountain of chips early and the ability to push around the shorties.

Either way, we hope to see you there in just over a week’s time – save the date on your poker schedule!

How to Adjust in a 6-Max Poker Tournament

  • Open Wider – Because the under-the-gun (UTG) is now the Low-Jack (LJ) position, you will need to adjust your preflop ranges. In a 9-handed tournament, you would be right to fold some hands like K9s or QTs, but in a 6-Max, these are great hands to open and get involved in pots.
  • Defend Your Blinds – Following the previous tip, you must defend your big-blind (BB) wider. Do not be scared by a UTG open, and protect your BB!
  • Have More 3-Bet Bluffs – When you play full-ring games, having playable hands might incentivize you to do more flatting in a late position, especially when you have a hand like AX-suited or a suited connector. In 6-Max, you should aim to take more pots down pre-flop and punish your opponents!

“I love it when a plan comes together” – that was the catchphrase of lead character, John ‘Hannibal’ Smith in the TV and movie classic The A-Team. This is exactly what those behind recent additions to the very impressive Sunday schedule of online poker tournaments at partypoker must be saying.

From the multitude of choices we’re faced with in real money online poker as well, of course, as the vast amounts of money being paid out day after day, we might think that online poker operators can’t go wrong. However, the success of the industry is also a potential problem in that the competitive nature of the poker eco-system means providers are battling away to attract and retain players. Consequently, it helps their cause when new tournaments, for example, generate sufficient numbers – especially in the case of tournaments with hefty guaranteed prize pools.

There are two such new strings to the partypoker bow. First, the $22 buy-in Sunday Carnival will be held each Sunday at 19:00 GMT and comes with a tasty $50,000 guaranteed prize pool. Then there’s the $109 buy-in Sunday Party (kicking off at the same time). This Progressive Knockout (PKO) tournament pays out a guaranteed $150,000 in prizes. The proof of the pudding, as they say, is in the eating, and so it was that the first edition of the Sunday Party managed to generate over 1,600 entries and surpassed the $150K guarantee.

partypoker Sunday Party.

It’s on achieving (or not achieving) numbers like these that the success of this or that event or fixture depends. And with this in mind, partypoker are stepping up a gear to reward the loyalty of their players – on both 19 and 26 February the $22 buy-in Sunday Carnival will see its guaranteed prize pool boosted by a 50% increase to bring it to $75,000 and add even more incentive to play.

Meanwhile, on 26 February the prize pool for the Sunday Party fixture will increase to an incredible $200,000! Remember that partypoker is dedicated to providing opportunities for all, and these Sunday specials are no exception – there are many qualifiers available during the days running up to each weekly tournament, and it’s possible to start the satellite process for as little as 1 cent.

Good luck at the tables, and have fun, and don’t forget that you can find the latest online poker bonuses and offers via our up-to-date info section.

You don’t have to play poker to be aware of the term ‘all-in’ because it’s become almost universal in everyday language. However, for those of us who enjoy the ups and downs of real money online poker this aspect of the game carries great significance. Going all-in, by definition, means we’re putting all our chips, or all our cash left on the table, on the line.

Not only can the experience be as nerve-wracking as it’s exciting, but for many it would help if it wasn’t a literally all or nothing scenario. This is where the All-in Cashout facility can be very helpful, and this article will take a brief look at how partypoker presents this interesting option to players.

All-in Cashout at Partypoker: How It Works

Instead of risking falling foul of a bad beat, for example, and thus suffering a nasty and perhaps costly loss, the All-in Cashout feature at partypoker allows players to effectively bring the financial part of the hand to an end before the remaining cards are dealt. This is done by locking in profits that are calculated based on the odds of winning the pot at the time of shoving all-in.

Here’s an example: in a Cash Game you go all-in on the Flop, and it turns out that you are the 80% favourite to win the hand with a pot of $100 up for grabs. Your options are:

Simply elect to see the hand play out as usual, in which case you’ll either win $100 or, if the poker gods decide in your opponent’s favour, you’ll lose it all.

Or

Use the All-in Cashout facility to guarantee a profit regardless of the outcome of the hand.

Note that the amount you lock in will be based on your current odds, minus a nominal 1% fee, so that in the example above, with 80% equity in a $100 pot, you would receive $79.20 after the 1% ($0.80) fee. For many players that‘s a very small price to pay for peace of mind, with a sizeable chunk of a pot being absolutely enough of a reward rather than risking everything.

partypoker Cash Games.

The All-in Cashout kicks in within the UK and certain other regulated markets when the situation arises in Texas Hold’em and Omaha cash and Fastforward games, with eligible players being automatically presented the option.

While the All-in Cashout may not be used in conjunction with Run it Twice, rejecting the option still leaves both or all players free to run it twice.

After cashing out, the amount is instantly added to your stack so that you can use it as soon as the next hand is dealt.

So, there you have it – the all-in cashout facility is one of those features that is guaranteed to be very popular indeed.

If you’d like to add to your list of go-to online poker rooms, then take a look at the latest online poker bonuses and offers in our info section.

When we first venture into real money online poker we’re presented with a veritable smorgasbord of entertainment. We might start with Texas Hold’em cash games and then be tempted into the excitement promised by the extra hole cards in Omaha games, for example, while some jump straight into online poker tournaments to see what all the fuss is about. What is practically a given is that, at some point, we’ll at least try out Sit & Go games.

Wherever you are in your poker career, you’ll find plenty of Sit & Go choice at partypoker where, perhaps not surprisingly, everyone is catered for (see below).

Every Poker Fan Should Try Sit & Go Games

The one-table format itself is an attraction (which we might want to specialise in), while it’s also a good way to hone tournament skills and get a grip of such as position, stack sizes, aggressive plays and so on.

Regardless, Sit & Go poker is very popular amongst all players, from beginner and hobbyists to seasoned professionals. The games are also very convenient because you’re good to go as soon as the players are registered, so there’s no waiting around or set start times, and you simply fit in as many games as you wish.

At partypoker there are many Sit & Go variations to choose from – heads-up, six-handed, nine-handed and ten-handed and, in terms of structure, you’ll find Standard, Turbo and Hyper Turbo available. Buy-ins, meanwhile, start as low as $1.10 and go all the way up to $1,000 for the high rollers…

partypoker Sit & Go lobby view.

And there’s more: partypoker’s Sit & Go offering also features alternatives to the traditional format:

  • Double or Nothing: half of the field wins double their buy-in, and the other half win nothing.
  • SPINS: these are 3-handed Turbo Sit & Go tournaments where a special multiplier can boost the prize pool by up to 240,000 times!

Sit & Go Boosted Hours

To add even more incentive, thanks to the Boosted Hours promotion at partypoker you can now earn extra Cashback points when playing Sit & Go games for which the buy-in is $20 or higher (N.B. this does not include Heads-Up games).

Find the latest online poker bonuses and offers at our packed info page, and broaden your poker horizons…

For the newcomer (indeed anyone) to real money online poker the sheer scale of what we’re confronted with can be daunting initially and, generally, quite confusing. Whether it’s Texas Hold’em or Omaha cash, Sit & Go games or online poker tournaments that we’re looking to play, there are (or there should be, at least!) bonuses, promotions and various forms of loyalty schemes to navigate and make the most of as we enjoy our time at the tables.

It’s incumbent on online poker providers to come up with player loyalty programmes that both avoid negatively impacting the overall online poker experience but also offer worthwhile rewards. It can be both frustrating – and ultimately off-putting – for players to first have to jump through too many troublesome hoops and then find the award earned to be something of an anti-climax. The danger then is that players – given the array of choices at their disposal nowadays – will simply move on to a poker room that they find more attractive.

Of course, it’s horses for courses, as they say, and impossible to please everyone all of the time – what seems like a good deal to some can be an arduous task for others. For their part, the up-and-coming Juicy Stakes Poker are doing their bit for players in the form of their Gold Chips rewards.

Juicy Stakes Poker and Casino.

Like all good ideas through the ages, simplicity is key, and here is a nice and easy, convenient and useful way to reward players who rack up so-called Frequent Player Point (FPPs) as they spend time having fun at the tables (which, of course, is what it’s all about).

Gold Chips at Juicy Stakes Poker: How It Works

The point of the Gold Chip programme is to give players a facility to put their FPPs to good use. Juicy Stakes rewards you in numerous ways for spending time at their tables, with a key feature being via Gold Chips.

When you play poker for real money in ring games or tournaments (for example) at Juicy Stakes you earn Frequent Player Points (FPP), and these become Gold Chips. The exchange is automatically calculated as you go, and works out at a rate of 100 FPPs = 1 Gold Chip.

Gold Chips are then redeemable in the form of a special Non-Deposit Bonus that can be taken as follows:

  • $5 for only 20 Gold Chips
  • $25 for only 100 Gold Chips
  • $100 for only 400 Gold Chips

It’s that simple. Bonuses are paid out in $5 increments and are credited to your account directly upon fulfilling the relevant Frequent Player Point requirements. Note that you need to collect 83.335 FPPs for each $5 increment.

Have fun at the tables at Juicy Stakes Poker, and make good use of your Gold Chips!

Do you want to expand your stable of online poker rooms? Have a look through the latest online poker bonuses and offers featured in our dedicated info section.

Everything in life is relative, and so it goes with real money online poker when it comes to the various offerings provided by this or that operator. For example, there’s standard Sit & Go fare, and there’s the Sit & Crush version you’ll find at Americas Cardroom which, by all accounts, is pretty impressive.

As well as the games themselves, a large helping of extra spice is added in the shape of both a Jackpot and weekly Leaderboards.

Americas Cardroom Sit & Crush: How It Works

Register for any Sit & Go, JackpotPoker Games or On Demand tournaments and you’re already good to go! You earn points just by playing, so there’s no pressure to win – no matter how you do, you’ll still be automatically ranked on the Leaderboard.

To keep a track of your progress through the week, simply click on the Sit & Crush logo in the Poker Lobby to find your rank on the Leaderboard, your points tally and other useful information.

The more you play, the higher your ranking, and as well as cold, hard cash there are also tournament tickets up for grabs.

Sit & Crush at Americas Cardroom.

ACR’s Sit & Crush Leaderboards run every week, so can just keep on playing and get continuous bites of the proverbial cherry week after week. Note that the Leaderboards start each Saturday at 12:00am and run until the following Friday at 11:59pm (ET). Cash prizes are paid out every Saturday, and those players awarded with $90+5 value tickets must use them for 6pm ET Sunday events. That’s right – it’s not just Sit & Go players who can benefit from this promotion. Online poker tournament fans should join the fun, too, because the Leaderboard races feature both Cash and Tournament Ticket targets.

No Additional Fees!

What’s commendable about Sit & Crush at Americas Cardroom is that there are no additional contributions that need to be made to either the Leaderboards or the Jackpot. When you register for and sit down to play you pay only the usual fee for the game, nothing more!

For example, in a 9-handed $10+1 Sit & Go the $1 is the fee, with $0.25 taken out and put into the Sit & Crush Jackpot. 75% is then contributed towards the Cash Race and 25% is contributed to the Tournament Race.

Finally, here at Pokerlistings we strive to make life easier for our community, so check out the latest online poker bonuses in our info section.

Have fun, and good luck at the tables!

While a big part of our raison d’etre at PokerListings is to constantly keep our community of poker fans up to date regarding the latest online poker bonuses and offers and so on, it’s also important to look into all aspects of real money online poker so that players are well informed about how the industry works.

However slick online poker operators have become in their respective quests to carve out their share of an ever-competitive market, there’s always room for improvement and change. Technology is such nowadays that we take the online poker experience for granted as we enjoy traditional Texas Hold’em cash games or go on a four-hole-cards Omaha rollercoaster. But the endeavours and hard work of those behind the scenes who make playing the game so much effortless fun (other than the decisions we need to make hand after hand!) tend to go unappreciated.

The well-known PokerStars is so popular that it is one of the very few online poker providers that is known to non-players. We could be forgiven for thinking that those at the helm of the ship would rest on their laurels, but they continually strive to provide an optimum and – crucially – user-friendly product, which entails keeping a permanently close eye on proceedings. In fact, it’s this attention to detail, as well as a willingness to see not only what works, but what doesn’t, that contributes to the PokerStars success story continuing.

To this end, PokerStars periodically brings about a rafter of new features as well as adjustments to old ones, and generally lifts the hood to check that the engine is running smoothly, as it were. To elaborate on that theme, it’s fair to say that many would describe PokerStars as the Rolls Royce of poker rooms thanks to the operator being around for so long and consequently building a well-earned reputation for top quality and reliability.

PokerStars Mobile Widget.

Here’s a brief rundown of a few recent tweaks that have been carried out at PokerStars (a mix of Desktop and Mobile updates) in their quest for poker perfection:

  • A statistics ‘widget’ has been added to The Rail to provide players with more information about the games they have played (note that this was initially introduced in the UK, with a gradual expansion rollout to other countries to follow
  • Redesigned tournament results displayed at the end of tournaments
  • Find new knockout animations at the table on eliminating an opponent in Bounty tournaments
  • Redesigned Spin & Go lobby
  • Game type now displayed for Mixed Games in the collapsed state of the tournament information widget
  • Several additional improvements to the tournament information widget
  • Increased size of emoji images displayed in the Chat bubbles
  • The table rail can be updated to a range of colour options
  • Detailed tournament information displayed at the table by clicking the new ‘i’ icon
  • Players can define custom betting buttons for both pre- and post-flop
Improved Tournament Display at PokerStars.

Considering that this is just a selection of the many updates and adjustments since late 2022, it goes to show how much the PokerStars machine is being monitored and maintained. Hopefully, the next time you sit down to play a Sit & Go or a multi-table online poker tournament you’ll marvel at the level of work that goes into providing such an entertaining, well-run platform.

Have fun at the tables, and good luck!

When Day 2 kicked off with 57 remaining players, it was truly there for anyone to claim the PokerListings Championship trophy.

One of the most notable names left in the field was Georgina ‘GJReggie’ Reggie, a PokerStars Twitch ambassador who has amassed a massive following for her calm nature playing poker and her remarkable ability to break down the game for beginners in an easy-to-understand way.

Reggie is no tournament slouch, however, and came into Day 2 just a few weeks removed from her winning run at the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure, where she won the Women’s Event for $6,539.

Reggie would find herself battling familiar faces from the Festival Series, including PLO expert Jeraint ‘JJ’ Hazan, who has notched almost $750,000 in live tournament earnings since starting his career nearly 20 years ago.

The final table bubble would burst on Reggie’s behalf, as her J 10 could not get there versus Alexandru Grigorie’s K Q , and there would be just nine remaining. Colin Lovelock came in as chip leader and has shown a litany of results that proved he could be the one to close out the PokerListings Championship.

With a resume of almost $500,000 in earnings playing a host of live poker tournaments, Lovelock would be in pole position to win the silverware. He has experience playing in Vegas during the World Series of Poker, featuring in partypoker LIVE’s circuit across Europe, and even played at Dusk Till Dawn recently at the GGPoker UK Poker Championships.

Arguably the most significant shift came at the expense of JJ Hazan, as his A K would not be able to hold against Nane Corrado’s A Q , as the flop was great for JJ, showing K J 6 and a safe 6 turn. A gut-wrenching 10 river saw Hazan go from a potential 25 million in chips and instead left him down to just 5 million.

Hazan showed his poker experience, skill, and heart, however, laddering up past Corrado and Nicholas Burrett as he navigated his chip stack from 5 million to almost 40 million in a three-handed battle for the Championship a seat in the Festival Series in Malta.

JJ Hazan.
JJ Hazan

After Russell Bowman, Colin Lovelock, and JJ Hazan all made a deal to chop up the prize money, the question of who would win the PokerListings Championship and the Malta Festival seat remained.

JJ was aiming to finish off an unbelievable comeback, but that dream was cut short when he jammed his 2 2 and ran into the Q Q of Colin Lovelock. A runout of 7 6 6 3 8 would be of no help, and the Festival legend JJ Hazan was sent to the rail.

With Russel Bowman and Lovelock left to battle heads-up, the latter faced adversity as he doubled up Bowman when his K J was behind K Q preflop, and a board of 2 3 3 4 5 saw the chips swing in Bowman’s favor.

A lengthy heads-up battle ensued until Bowman had no choice but to put his few remaining big blinds in with 6 5 and ran into Lovelock’s K 7 – the cards were clean on the runout, and we crowned Colin Lovelock our PokerListings Champion. He will have his seat ready and waiting in Malta for the Festival’s next series stop.

However, the fun is far from done at Dusk Till Dawn, with massive numbers turning out for the Festival Series Main Event, a £100,000 GTD event that will almost certainly blow past this figure after all the Day 1 flights have passed.

Winner Interview with Colin Lovelock

For many low and mid-stakes poker players, the aim is to find the best value for their poker bankroll while giving themselves the best opportunity to get a winning return.

The poker opportunity and value can find this in low buy-in events where the prizepool is enormous, giving them a chance to score big and boost their bankroll to a colossal scale. This weekend, the Banco Casino is hosting the Slovak Poker Open, giving poker fans the perfect opportunity to go to Bratislava and win huge.

Running until February 20, the Slovak Poker Open will crown a champion that will give them a massive boost to their bankroll and a highly prestigious poker title on their Hendon Mob profile. The best bit about this poker tournament? For only 200, you can enter and get your share of a vast 300,000 guaranteed prizepool.

Suppose you want to fire other events while at the luxurious Banco Casino? Fortunately, you can play in a 25,000 GTD High Roller or even dabble in a Mystery Bounty, Turbo Deepstack, or PLO tournament. The Slovak Poker Open is well-known for drawing juicy cash games that run alongside the poker series.

From tomorrow you can jump in the Day 1 E flight, which has a perfect structure of 12 30-minute levels and a starting stack of 50,000 – this gives poker players a golden opportunity to spin a pile of chips up for Day 2 and give themselves the best chance to win the top prize.

Satellites are running around the clock at Casino Banco, and you can even play a Hyper Turbo Day 1 flight on the Sunday before Day 2! If you manage to guide through Day 2, you will be part of the Final Day on Monday before the Slovak Poker Open says goodbye with a Farewell Turbo Deepstack.

Just because it’s Valentine’s Day, that doesn’t mean we have to put poker on hold. Our passion for the game, remember, burns every day of the year, and today is no exception. Indeed, the world of real money online poker never stops turning, and today we’re alerting our Pokerlistings community to a tasty promotion at GGPoker which is aimed at giving players in the UK and Ireland a chance to boost their bankroll via a series of Freeroll tournaments.

What’s great about this $2,000 Welcome Freerolls promo is that it’s available not only to first time depositors in these poker-loving countries, but also those players who are still in their first year at GGPoker! This is a nice touch that we hope to see more online poker operators adopt.

$2,000 Welcome Freerolls: How It Works

The promotion continues until and including 26 February, and it couldn’t be simpler – if you’re about to join GGPoker, then an initial deposit of $10 or more is enough to qualify, while for existing GGPoker players can take advantage of the offer by re-depositing a minimum of $20.

The tournaments run every Monday and Thursday at 20:00 GMT, until 27 February, and in order to fit in with poker fans’ busy lives, take only a few hours to complete.

As for the breakdown of the $2,000 prize pools, 99 prizes of at least $10 will be awarded!

Each $2,000 Welcome Freeroll tournament ticket is credited to your account the day after a deposit, and is valid until the last tournament on 27 February 27. Note that you can continue to play these special Freerolls until the end of the promotional period, with each subsequent qualifying deposit of $20 or more earning a new ticket!

If you’re an inexperienced player or new to online poker tournaments you can head to our Strategy section here at Pokerlistings and check out an article Poker Freeroll article which features a few helpful tips to help navigate your way to the prizes.

Good luck at the Freeroll tables, and have fun…

After the massive success of their streamer cash game last year, the team behind the most popular live poker stream is going for the fences again.

Hustler Casino Live’s Million Dollar Game Stream

In May this year, they will be hosting a $1 million buy-in live-streamed cash game, which will continue pushing the boundaries of poker live streams.

The game is expected to start with $500/ $1,000 blinds and will be straddled up to the ceiling – over $15 million could be on the table during the live stream.

Speaking to HCL co-founder Ryan Feldman, he said: “I came up with the idea soon after the Mr Beast game last year.

“Once that game ended, I started thinking about how to top that – so the idea of a million-dollar buy-in came to mind.”

After the Mr Beast cash game became the most popular and watched live-streamed poker cash game, Feldman can see the same success for this one.

“I envision this game being the most viewed poker show ever,” he continued. “I think there’s something special about a million-dollar buy-in; we will have so much hype around this game that it will be absolutely epic.”

Alan Keating & Ryan Feldman.

Who Is Going to Play in the HCL Million Dollar Game Live Stream?

Despite being way out, Ryan Feldman confirmed to PokerListings that the confirmed players are:

  • Doordash co-founder Stanley Tang.
  • Sprout Social founder and HCL regular J.R.
  • Crypto investor Handz.
  • HCL high-stakes regular Nik Airball.
  • Businessman and HCL regular Blank Check Ben.
  • HCL high-stakes regular Charles.

It’s rumored that fan favorite Alan Keating will be playing in the game, but that is yet to be confirmed by the player that drives plenty of action.

Garrett Adelstein is one name that many poker fans hope to be added; the LA high-stakes poker crusher has been out of the live-streamed cash game scene since his highly-covered cheating dispute with Robbi Jade Lew.

Since then, Garrett has also had family commitments and would understandably seek a break from playing cash games. On his potential return, Feldman said: “We haven’t been in contact much, other than a few conversations – we’re not sure if or when he’ll return (to HCL).”

How Ryan Feldman Helped Build The Most Popular Poker Live Stream

It’s been a crazy journey for Ryan Feldman and fellow HCL co-founder Nick Vertucci, who went from being an organizer and player for the Live at the Bike! Poker stream to running the most popular poker cash game live-stream available.

Going from creating the poker stream to the biggest live stream that hosted world-famous names like Mr Beast, Ninja, and Paul Pierce must seem surreal, but for Feldman, it is all part of the process.

Nick Vertucci & Ryan Feldman.
Nick Vertucci & Ryan Feldman

“We don’t set direct goals. We just try to build the best poker show in the world and think of new ideas to expand our business,” Feldman points out. “We just let everything fall into place – right now, our goal is for the Million Dollar Game to be the most-watched poker show ever.”

While this success-driven mindset might keep the blinders on for Feldman, does he ever take a moment and look back? Before a rough end with LATB, a similar poker stream he built up, the highest stakes usually teetered around $50/$100 and $100/$200.

Put simply: did he ever imagine running these kinds of nosebleed high-stakes cash games?

“It’s definitely pretty surreal – it’s crazy how comfortable people are these days in playing so big.

“We are very fortunate to know so many fun players who are comfortable playing high-stakes games.”

The brilliance of what Ryan Feldman and Nick Vertucci have created goes beyond nosebleed cash games.

It comes in the narratives and stories they have created. Whether it’s Ninja laughing in the face of Phil Hellmuth or Garrett Adelstein getting his ultimate revenge moment against Dylan, these moments make the HCL cash games so exciting.

Phil Hellmuth & Ninja.
Phil Hellmuth & Ninja

How do you create these kinds of moments? Is there a method to the poker madness?

“I don’t have an exact formula; I just subconsciously know the formula in my mind,” said Feldman.

“I know what a good line-up looks like from a viewer’s perspective and a player’s perspective.”

And now, all eyes will be awaiting the line-up for the Million Dollar Game. If it follows the mammoth poker games of HCL past, this is going to be a poker stream not to be missed.

Ryan’s Ultimate Hustler Casino Live Line-Up

Before we let Ryan go, we asked for his ultimate Hustler Casino Live line-up, filling the table with anyone who has played on the show from streams past.

Here is the HCL All-Star cash game lineup:

  • Mr Beast, holder of the fourth-most-subscribed YouTube channel
  • Tom Dwan, high-stakes poker legend
  • Ninja, one of the most popular Twitch streamers of all-time
  • Reza, Los Angeles high-stakes cash game regular
  • Krish, a businessman who appeared on High Stakes Poker
  • Antonio Esfandiari, High Stakes Poker legend and WSOP, WPT Champion
  • Mikki, a professional gambler
  • Alan Keating, a businessman who plays in regular nosebleed private cash games
  • Eric Persson, founder of Maverick Gaming and regular cash game player in Las Vegas.

The mix of personalities, poker styles, and interactions would create an unmissable live stream. Now we wait until May to see whether Ryan Feldman can pull it off in poker reality.

We are closing in on the biggest poker festival of the Baltics and let’s be honest, who isn’t enthusiastic about a festival completely designed based on the wishes of the players? If we might believe the news, this grand event will again break records this year as the reservations coming in by big numbers. There’s so much more to real money online poker than newcomers to the game might think. As well as providing us with a virtual ‘venue’ where we can play Texas Hold’em and Omaha cash, Sit & Go games, online poker tournaments and more, it also serves as a gateway to live festivals around the world. And the emphasis nowadays is on opportunities for all…

One of the online poker operators that certainly lives up to its name is WPT Global which, while being a big player in the industry, has been around for only a very short time. The reason why this popular poker room has managed to achieve so much so quickly is because it was set up last year as the online platform of the World Poker Tour (WPT), one of the biggest names in the poker world and a veteran of prestigious events and ground-breaking TV coverage.

The latest venture at WPT Global is to connect online and ‘bricks & mortar’ poker by giving out exclusive WPT poker passports so that poker fans used to playing online can also get a taste of the big money ‘live’ festival experience, armed with a ‘poker passport’ that allows them to travel the globe and play in elite events in the shape of World Poker Tour live tournaments. And WPT Global plan to award these special passports every weekend!

Satellites for All Bankrolls

A new and comprehensive and bankroll-friendly qualifying set-up culminates every week in $110 buy-in qualifiers, which themselves can be satellited into thanks to plenty of feeder satellites each day, with buy-ins starting at just $5. Note that the prizes each week are such that you can even get to choose in which WPT Prime tournament you play.

WPT Global Exclusive WPT Live Tour Qualifiers.

And the list of high-flying events to choose from offers up some interesting venues, including:

  • Amsterdam, Netherlands, 29 March – 1April
  • Bratislava, Slovakia, 11-15 May
  • Hanoi, Vietnam, 25-29 May
  • San Remo, Italy, 1-11 June

N.B. It’s possible to win more than one Passport! As long as you travel and play using the first one, you can subsequently either use additional Passports you win at other WPT live feature events or, alternatively, exchange them for WPT Global online tournament tickets of your choice.

Have fun on your quest for world domination at WPT Global…

Meanwhile, as well as the great deals on offer at WPT Global you’ll find more of the latest online poker bonuses on our dedicated info pages.
