No Need to Worry About Bad Beats at GGPoker Thanks to the EV Cashout Feature

No Need to Worry About Bad Beats at GGPoker Thanks to the EV Cashout Feature

So, you’ve been dealt Aces and, very craftily, have managed to tempt a call sucker with a lowly pair of Jacks into a tasty looking pre-flop all-in. Life is good… The Poker Gods, on the other hand, have other ideas, and decide that this will be one of the dreaded 20% of times when you lose, a Jack appearing on the River (for dramatic effect - they have a sense of humour, those Poker Gods).

But it doesn’t have to be this way! Not at the innovative online poker room that is GGPoker at least. Thanks to their EV Cashout facility (EV as in Expected Value), in certain situations players who are all-in are given the option to collect the expected value of their hand before the remaining cards are dealt out.

The EV Cashout feature is offered across a range of variants: Hold’em, Pot-Limit Omaha, PLO-5, Rush & Cash, and Short Deck.

How It Works

When multiple players go all-in and all live hole cards have been revealed, a player who has 60% or higher pot equity will be offered an EV Cashout.

On accepting the EV Cashout offer, the money will be paid regardless of the outcome of the hand.
Declining the offer, or failing to accept within the given time, means that the hand continues as normal, with the pot - and any sidepot(s) - at stake as per usual.

N.B. Note that EV Cashout is offered only after the Flop has been dealt.

EV Cashout is calculated as follows: Cashout = (Pot size - Rake - Jackpot fee) x Equity

A fee of 1% of cashout value will be applied while using EV Cashout on all Cash Game tables. Note that, in a two-way all-in situation, the underdog will only have the option to suggest RIMT (run it multiple times) and will not be able to select EV Cashout.

This player-friendly feature is one of many at GGPoker, which offers a real money poker experience that deservedly puts the site among the world’s leaders.

Have fun, and good luck!
