Cell Phones Replaced with Kittens at World Series of Poker
We thought the World Series of Poker would be a happier place if instead of cell phones, everyone spent all their time looking at kittens.
So that's what we did.
The result is a strange juxtaposition of cuteness and deadpan expressions as players stare disinterestedly at the world's cutest kitties.
But still, definitely an improvement over cell phones.

Cell phones have become an epidemic at the World Series of Poker and this year it's more ubiquitous than ever.
Players are on their cell phones at the table whenever they're not in a hand, and sometimes when they are. They're looking at their phones in the registration and payout lines, and many spend their breaks loitering in the hallway looking at their cell phones.
Wouldn't the world be a better place if we carried small kittens in our pockets and pulled them out every few minutes to pay attention to them?
We can only imagine if this was really the case, you'd see a lot more smiles at the tables compared to the dead-eyed stare of the cell phone addict.
And kittens have many other advantages over cell phones. They don't need to be recharged, just fed a little kibble. They don't deliver bad news and superficiality like social media and the internet.
They bring smiles to people's faces compared to turning everyone into soul-less robots.
They'll help you make friends. Almost everyone loves kittens and if they don't it's a pretty clear signal that you should not be friends with them.
And if you don't have a card protector, just use a kitten.
Also kittens don't become obsolete, they just grow up and become cats which are also great to have around.
And if you like puppies over kittens, don't worry. You could totally carry a small puppy around and pull him or her out periodically to cheer yourself up.
The bottom line is, don't be afraid to let go of your cell phone once in a while and interact with another living animal. It's great for your physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health and there are tons of kittens that need a home.
Don't feel like you need to stop at one kitten either. How many pockets do you have? That's the correct number of kittens to have, especially while you're playing poker.
So in closing: Kittens.
