A $1 million guaranteed prize pool turned out to be a big draw for the start of the Full Tilt Online Series of Poker IX on Wednesday, with thousands of players taking on Event 1.

The first event of the Full Tilt Poker series saw 5,779 players pony up the $200+$16 to play some No-Limit Texas Hold'em. When all the money was in, the $1 million guaranteed prize pool had been boosted to $1,155,800.

The biggest share of that went to GARFIELD25, who pocketed $199,398.62 for the win. The second-place winner, dorinvandy, also walked away with six figures.

The final-table results from the event were as follows:

Place Name Prize
1st GARFIELD25 $199,398.62
2nd dorinvandy $120,781.10
3rd daisybyrd $77,669.76
4th Cryyss $60,679.50
5th RiverJazz $45,654.10
6th Mr_Bond222 $34,096.10
7th acedel15 $26,583.40
8th mpuskad3 $20,226.50
9th monopolyguy845 $15,025.40

This event was hosted by Allen Cunningham, who failed to make it into the money. There were a few familiar faces among those who cashed though.

Steve Brecher, a former software programmer-turned-poker pro, landed in 111th place. Behind him in 252nd place was Jordan Morgan.

Morgan, known in the online realm as iMsoLucky0, has several World Series of Poker cashes on his record, including two final tables, and has racked up millions in poker winnings. He wasn't quite so lucky this time around.

Full Tilt pro Hans Vogl also cashed in Event 1 of the FTOPS IX in 374th place to add to his more than $360k in career earnings.

A second day of tournament play has already kicked off today with the $240+$16 Pot-Limit Omaha/Eight Knockout event. The event, hosted by Martin Klaser, started at 2 p.m. ET and has a $200,000 guaranteed prize pool.

At 9 p.m. ET Greg Mueller will play host to Event 3, a $200+$16 No-Limit Hold'em 4x Shootout 6-max tournament. This event has a $250,000 guaranteed prize pool.

This time around the FTOPS has 25 events with more than $15 million in guaranteed prize pools. Head to Full Tilt Poker to take your shot at the big money.
