Zinno Eyes Back-to-Back; Leah, Klodnicki Join in WPT LAPC Final 6

Anthony Zinno
Anthony Zinno infront of bricks of cash a common sight.

Can Anthony Zinno win back-to-back WPT titles (and his 3rd overall)?

Can Mike Leah keep up his amazing 2014 results?

Can Chris Klodnicki win his first WPT title?

Even more immediately: Can they catch chip leader Igor Yaroshevskyy?

The storylines are thick wih intrigue as they head into the TV final table at the WPT Los Angeles Poker Classic tomorrow but none is more prominent than the presence of Zinno.

Fresh off his second career WPT title at Fallsview Casino last month Zinno is vying to become just the third back-to-back winner on the WPT after Marvin Rettenmaier and Darren Elias.

He'll again be one of the shorter stacks, coming in fifth with 1,480,000, but if his track record is a sign that's not an impediment.

Mike Leah
Few playing better right now than Leah.

Leah Second; Klodnicki Trails

After chip leader Yaroshevskyy with 5,315,000 Zinno also has to contend with a big-stacked Mike Leah.

Coming off a spectacular year in 2014 where he secured his first career 7-figure score, his first WSOP bracelet and over $2m in earnings, Leah finds himself right in the thick of another seven-figure chase.

He enter the final table second in chips with 4,715,000 and his eyes firmly on the $1m+ first prize.

Also making things tough on Zinno will be three veteran pros in Peter Neff, Peter Tran and Chris Klodnicki.

Neff, an online stalwart who plays under the name "#1PEN," and Tran, who once walked 60 miles in 20 hours to win $50k, hold down the middle of the pack with 2.2 and 1.5m chips, respectively.

Klodnicki comes in short with 920,000 but with $7.5m in career earnings his resume speaks for itself. The complete final six and chip counts:

  • 1. Igor Yaroshevskyy 5,315,000
  • 2. Mike Leah 4,715,000
  • 3. Peter Neff 2,120,000
  • 4. Peter Tran 1,585,000
  • 5. Anthony Zinno 1,480,000
  • 6. Chris Klodnicki 920,000
