Ilari Sahamies

Today Ilari "ziigmund" Sahamies unveiled his super system for playing poker tournaments. We've decided to share it so that you too can reap the benefits.

Step 1: Go Out Drinking the Night Before

This is really the foundation of the entire system, skip this and you're going to have trouble with the rest of the steps. Hard alcohol is most effective but beer or wine will do in a pinch, just make sure to increase the measure appropriately.

We have it on good authority that ziigmund was out all night at a gentleman's club enjoying a few adult beverages.

Step 2: Don't Set Your Alarm Clock

If you follow Step 1 this should take care of itself. If you're too drunk to find your bed it's unlikely you'll be able to program an alarm clock.

Just wake up naturally and wander down to the tournament. This will put you in perfect position to execute Step 3. Since Ilari showed up at 5:30 pm we're pretty sure he didn't set his alarm.

Step 3: Get All-In on the First Hand

This one really is the easiest. Wait until you've been dealt two cards and do whatever it takes to get your remaining chips in the middle.

As Sahamies showed us pretty much any two are good. He happened to pick up A-4 today which is better than your average hand. Don't be scared if your opponent is re-raising you. Sahamies had to five-bet shove his A-4 today.

Step 4: Suck Out and Double Up

This is the step you don't want to forget. If you don't get this one right it's really all been for nothing. Sahamies nailed a four on the flop today to overcome Carter Phillips' A-J.

And that's how you do it. Our hats are off to ziigmund for letting us in on the secret.

Follow our live coverage of EPT Prague to see how it works out for him.

His next lesson? Withering your opponents with an icy northern stare.

Our thanks to Simon Young at the PokerStarsBlog for relating the story.

Editor's Note: Shortly after this was posted Sahamies busted out shoving A-5 pre-flop. We still stand behind the system however. The system is sound.
