Wynn Las Vegas to run tournament in 2007

The Wynn Las Vegas has announced it will launch its first major poker tournament next winter.

According to the Las Vegas Sun, the inaugural Wynn poker series will run in the hotel resort's poker room between February 19 and early March, and will host 13 different events.

Preliminary tournament buy-ins will vary from $500 to $3,000, while the No-Limit Hold'em championship will cost players $10,000 in entry fees.

Deborah Giardina, director of poker room operations at the Wynn, said poker games featured will include No-Limit Hold'em, Limit Hold'em, Pot-Limit Hold'em, Omaha, and a mixed-games event.
