In today’s Daily WSOP APAC 3-Bet we’ll take a look at George Danzer taking the lead in the 2014 WSOP POY, Kitty Kuo crushing the competition and Brandon Shack-Harris giving some insight into his thought process.
George Danzer Passes Brandon Shack-Harris in POY
The battle has commenced and George Danzer has drawn first blood against Player of the Year rival Brandon Shack-Harris.
Both Danzer and Shack-Harris managed to cash in Event 1 of the 2014 WSOP APAC but while Shack-Harris only managed a min cash in the event, Danzer made it all the way to 22nd place before finally falling to the rail.
With his 22nd place finish Danzer picks up just enough points to pass Shack-Harris and re-take the POY lead.
Both players immediately regged Event 2 after busting out of Event 1.
We’ve said it all along but this one really could come down to the wire.
Daniel Negreanu, who bricked both Events 1 and 2, is also still in the running but it’s looking more and more likely he’ll need a big push over the last eight events.
Kitty Kuo Roaring in Early Stages of Event 2
Don’t ever get in the way of Kitty Kuo and her tea.
The bubbly Taiwanese poker player, who finished 17th in the 2013 Aussie Millions Main Event, got off to a great start in Event 2 building a top 10 stack quickly.
Then she got angry.
A player asked her to move her tea cup off the table despite the fact she’d had it there for the entire tournament. Her response? Kuo simply busted that player and kept her tea cup on the table. Like a boss.
