WSOP 2008 Day 30: And they're off!
By Sean Lind
Events 45 and 47 are currently getting under way. Of the 24 players left in the H.O.R.S.E championship tourney, only 16 will leave in the money.
Event 46
The final table is well under way, with two players having been eliminated already. Davidi Kitai was eliminated in sixth place when his all-in with T
T
ran into pocket kings of the same suit.
Tom Lutz got eliminated after his pocket aces got cracked when Richard Lyndaker flopped a set of nines. The table took a break and is now back playing with four left. Our live updates section will keep you posted on what's going on.
Event 48
The event has only been running for a short time today, but already there have been some eliminations. More notably was Nikolay Evdakov making WSOP history.
As WSOP.com related, "Evdakov has made history here today when he officially busted out of the tournament to break the all-time record for most number of cashes in a single World Series of Poker. This was his ninth cash of the series, which breaks the record, previously tied at eight. Congratulations, Nikolay, on this tremendous achievement."
Tremendous indeed! The top-name pros are playing in as many tourneys as they can, yet none has been able to match this record. PokerListings likewise congratulates Evdakov.
Event 49
As is usual, the donkament has been running for three hours, with a substantial number of eliminations having already occurred. Of the 2,718 runners, only 1,860 currently remain.
