Ralph Schwartz won the $5,000 H.O.R.S.E. event at the 2007 WSOP

Two golden bracelets were awarded on Day 17 of the 2007 World Series of Poker. Ben Ponzio won Event 25, $2,000 No-Limit Hold'em, and Ralph Schwartz took home Event 26, $5,000 H.O.R.S.E.

Ben Ponzio defeated 1,618 opponents to win his first golden WSOP bracelet. The victory also gave him $599,467 in prize money.

In the final hand, Ben Ponzio called holding Kh-Qh, when Dave Hewitt moved all-in pre-flop. Hewitt flipped over Th-3h, and when neither player got any help from the board, the tournament was over.

Ralph Schwartz got $275,683 in prize money for his triumph in the prestigius $5,000 H.O.R.S.E. event. Only 192 players entered the tournament, but the starting field was packed with big names, such as Phil Ivey, who finished in fourth place, Daniel Negreanu, Doyle Brunson, Greg Raymer and many more.

When it was time for heads-up play for the bracelet, Ralph Schwartz stood face to face with Bill Gazes. He sealed the deal in an Omaha hand, when he made a six-high straight to beat Bill Gaze's pocket kings.

Otherwise on Day 17 of the 2007 WSOP, the final table for Event 27, $1,500 No-Limit Texas Hold'em was set. Seth Weinger is the chip leader ahead of David Woo and David Stucke.

Two new tournaments got underway as well at the Rio: Event 28, $3,000 No-Limit Texas Hold'em, and Event 29, $1,500 Seven-Card Razz.
