WPTE launches new mobile poker game in U.K.

By Sarah Polson

World Poker Tour Enterprises, Inc. (WPTE) has teamed up with Cecure Gaming to launch a multi-player, real-money mobile phone poker game with selected carriers in the United Kingdom.

In August, WPTE had released a heads-up, real-money poker game for mobile phones in the United Kingdom, and the new product will help the company continue to expand into the Texas Hold'em mobile poker market.

"We are excited about the prospects of the real money mobile gaming market," said Steve Lipscomb, WPTE founder, CEO and president. "We especially look forward to delivering exciting WPT gaming to our fans in the U.K. and creating a profitable business in the global market."

With the expanded game, players can play up to five other real opponents for real money live via their cell phones in a safe, secure and regulated environment. WPTE is also planning to expand their territory covered with the mobile Texas Hold'em game further in 2007.
