WPT wraps up season in Las Vegas

The best of the best are making their way to the Bellagio in Las Vegas as the World Poker Tour wraps up its fifth season there with the WPT Championship. With a $25,000 buy-in, the top prize is sure to draw the biggest and best pros from around the world.

Guaranteed to be there are the winners from the WPT Season 5 events, who along with their top cash prize won entry into the Championship. Those players include Joe Hachem, John Hennigan and Ted Forrest.

The Championship kicks off Saturday with Day 1a and continues through April 27.

Wrapping up the season also brings with it the filming of the WPT's 100th episode. The milestone will take place April 27 when the final table is filmed.

"We couldn't ask for a more fitting way to celebrate these incredible milestones," said Steve Lipscomb, WPT president, founder and CEO.

"Bellagio is a key charter member who helped us launch the World Poker Tour and create a global phenomenon. To come full circle back to where it all started and film the biggest event of the year, shoot our 100th episode and conclude our fifth season, it's truly amazing."

On April 28, the WPT will also be filming Poker by the Book, Chapter II, a final table of pros who have authored books on poker instruction.

Daniel Negreanu, Antonio Esfandiari, Dan Harrington, Barry Greenstein, Johnny Chan and Tom McEvoy will all face off against each other to prove who really does have the best poker knowledge.

Members of the audience for Poker by the Book will receive copies of the most recent book written by each player.

To get free tickets to be a member of the audience at this or the Championship final table, check in a the Bellagio Ballroom at 3 p.m. the day of the event.
