WPT unveils Boot Camp for the holiday season

By Sarah Polson

Topping the list of offerings from the World Poker Tour (WPT) during the upcoming holiday season is the WPT Boot Camp.

The WPT Boot Camp will bring together amateur poker players from around the world to learn more about the game and poker strategy and potentially win a chance to play "full-time" on the WPT. The camp takes place Dec. 4 through 8 at Nassau's Crystal Palace Casino in the Bahamas.

Kicking off the boot camp, which costs $3,995, is a VIP reception where participants will get a chance to meet and mingle with top professional poker players. Scheduled to appear are T.J. Cloutier, Antonio Esfandiari, Phil "The Unabomber" Laak, Jennifer Tilley, Mark Seif, Clonie Gowen, Marcel Luske, Michael Mizrachi, Chip Jett, Karina Jett, and Rick Fuller.

The rest of the camp will include instruction and techniques from pros and a tournament with a grand prize package that includes the buy-ins for 15 WPT Main Events around the world as well as travel vouchers for hotel accommodations and airfare. The winning player will also have the flexibility of three years to enroll in the events.

Seats to other WPT events will also be awarded to the second through sixth place finishers.
