WPT Hits One-of-a-Kind Playground Club for Montreal Stop

Playground Poker Montreal

When the PartyPoker World Poker Tour rolls into the Playground Poker Club in Montreal, it’s not just another stop on the endless global casino circuit.

With room for over 500 players in a single day the Playground Poker Club is one of the only poker-only facilities in existence.

Opened in 2010 the club is located just 20 minutes south of downtown Montreal on Kahnawake land.

In the last couple years it has become one of the hottest destinations in the poker world and has served as the host for the PartyPoker Premier League, Canada Cup, FTP Montreal Festival and more.

WPT Montreal Main Event Kicks Off on Nov. 20

Olympian Michael Phelps is no stranger to the Playground Poker Club.

The Playground Poker Club is simply one of the best places to play poker in the world.

It has over 25 full-time tables, a private high-stakes lounge and a five-star restaurant in the facility.

Billed as “For Players, By Players," the club offers daily tournaments and cash games for nearly every skill level.

That’s magnified in a huge way by the ongoing 13-event WPT Montreal festival, which runs from Nov. 9-27 with the main event scheduled to begin Nov. 20.

The venue proved so popular that the 2012 WPT event at the Playground Club broke all Canadian poker records when it attracted nearly 1,200 entries.

Several big-name poker stars including Antonio Esfandiari and Phil Laak were in attendance along with Olympian Michael Phelps. Local Jonathan Roy took down an astounding $780k for his win.

Thanks to that event and many others the Playground Poker Club has developed a reputation as a must-see poker venue of North America.
