WPT Enterprises, Inc. taking poker mobile in U.K.
By Sarah Polson
World Poker Tour Enterprises, Inc. (WPTE) announced this week that they've joined with 3G-Scene Limited, a London-based mobile gambling service, to bring their brand to the mobile gambling industry in the U.K. Their partnership will bring WPTE's mobile games to countries where gambling is permitted.
With the announcement of the partnership also came the release of the first version of their mobile Texas Hold'em multi-player poker game. The game, which will be available on select mobile carriers in the U.K., allows people to wager real money live against other players with the same mobile carrier.
"We chose 3G-Scene as our partner of choice to help us provide WPTE's international fan base a compelling real money poker product that complements our already strong position in the global mobile marketplace," said Steve Lipscomb, WPTE founder and CEO. "We see this initial venture as the entrée to what we hope will be a vast mobile market."
Through the partnership, WPTE's goal is to create a mobile gambling offering that will effectively provide customers with a suite of multi-player poker games in a safe, secure, and enjoyable environment.
"We are very excited to be teaming up with the most respected and recognized brand in professional poker," said Peter Karsten, CEO of 3G-Scene Limited. "This partnership will enable us to maximize our reach when bringing our unique real money casino and poker gambling solutions to the mobile market."
