Wooka Kim to represent Everest in Macau

Wooka Kim will continue to live the dream of being a professional poker player, this time representing Everest Poker in two different tournaments in Macau.

Kim, known online as -icebeer--, is a Japanese female poker player who was selected for a spot on the Everest poker Team during the poker site's 2008 Live the Dream event. She was chosen out of thousands of players to be Everest Poker's ambassador to Asia.

Part of her duties include representing Everest Poker in major poker tournaments around the world from March 2008 to March 2009. Next on her schedule are the Asian Poker Tour and Asian Pacific Poker Tour stops coming up in Macau.


The APT Macau event will take place Aug. 27-31 at the Galaxy StarWorld Hotel and Casino. The main event is expected to draw about 500 players willing to put up the $5,300 buy-in.

The APPT Macau event will take place at the Grand Waldo Hotel and Casino Sept. 1-9. This event has a $3,200 buy-in and is expected to have a prize pool topping $1 million.

Kim will be looking to duplicate her recent success at the Macau events. She took on the 2008 World Series of Poker Main Event in July for Everest Poker and made it into the money, cashing in 530th place out of 6,844 players to take home $25,090.

Kim has actually been playing poker on Everest Poker since 2006. Within her first year on the poker site she had built her bankroll to more than $90,000. In 2007 she also took on the live poker world, participating in the All Japan Poker Championship. There she took down the ladies event.

Poker fans also have a chance to join Wooka Kim in upcoming live tournaments. Not only is the poker site offering satellites to the European Poker Tour event of the winner's choice, it has seats up for grabs for the Spanish Poker Tour and prize packages to send players to Italy to play poker.
