Women's Poker Convention scheduled in Las Vegas

The inaugural Poker Convention for Women Poker Players has been organized in response to ongoing interest and demand, and will be hosted by poker author and player Lou Krieger between August 12th-14th, 2005.

Women are the fastest growing demographic in the poker industry but remain a minority in the professional playing fields. The convention will offer women players an opportunity to improve their game by learning directly from top players' experiences on the international circuit. Event organizers hope to emphasize the role of women in the world of poker, and encourage participants to feel empowered through the seminars and lecture series' slated to take place during the convention.

Jennifer Harman will address audiences as the keynote speaker, drawing on her vast experience and success as a professional poker player. Harman has won a WPT (World Poker Tour) title, along with two WSOP (World Series of Poker) gold bracelets. Other speakers include three-time WSOP champion Barbara Enright, two-time WSOP champion Susie Issacs, poker writer Amy Calistri, and pro players Roxci Rhodes, Cat Hulbert, and Lacey Jones.

Aside from the actual seminar series, a panel discussion and a women's poker tournament will be held, where first place will be awarded with money, a publicity kit, a professional photograph session, a profile in Woman Poker Player magazine, and a private tutoring session with a pro player.

More information will become available shortly on www.womanspokerconference.com.
