Woman creates set of 'beauty' poker cards in China
By Sarah Polson
Face cards have taken on a whole new meaning in China where one 18-year-old woman has come up with the idea to put pictures of beautiful women on the cards. Instead of decorating the backs of the cards, the playing side of the cards will all have pictures of women.
Yu Jingfei, from southwest China's Sichuan Province, came up with the idea after chatting online with other women in her city, Chengdu. She wanted to find a way to promote all the beautiful women of the city.
After reading about a scenic spot that was creating a set of poker cards to promote itself, Yu decided the same idea could work for them. She gathered photos from her online friends and soon the idea was made real.
The three of hears features Yu herself with other Chengdu beauties on all the other cards.
The women involved in the project are excited, with one woman even telling Chinese media that beautiful things should be shared by others and the project is healthy and entertaining.
Yu's next plan is to start selling the decks of poker cards at the Chengdu Railway station where she works.
