When its this big, PKR calls it super

Hot on the heels of PKR's successful Springfest 2007 promotion is a new event to trump them all: a summer festival called the Super Series.

The promotion coincides with the World Series of Poker, playing out July 14-28 with chances for big prize pools for small dollars.

Events in the PKR Super Series include a Super Stars bounty tournament, a ladies only event, a Young Guns event for the 18-30 set and a seniors special for players into their golden years.

Like the WSOP, the Super Series culminates with a $100 buy-in main event featuring a prize pool that's expected to top Springfest's $40,000 mark.

Any main event player or person who has bought in to three Super Series tournaments get a place in a special thank you freeroll at the poker room.

Each event winner and top finishers on the Super Series leaderboard show down in the PKR Super Series Tournament of Champions for yet-to-be-announced prizes. Last year's winner scored himself a seat at this year's WSOP.

But don't think the unlucky few who go out on the bubble have been forgotten. The site is hosting a Bubble Trouble tournament for each player who busts in second place. The winner of the special event takes home a crate of champagne.
