Everyone:

WE NEED 65 PLAYERS TO REGISTER... 36 hours & counting...

This is an opportunity that Listings and Stars have put together for the 1000 plus that signed up each month for the two ticket freerolls that were cancelled. It is very generous and we only need 65 more players to register for it to start.

We still have 36 hours so let us show them both that we appreciate this opportunity by registering and playing. If we get 1000 to start it will pay 3 for every 4 that register.

We have no excuses and nothing to complain about after this. So make it a success.

My thanks to the players, Sean, Listings and Stars for hearing us and responding in such a positive, generous way.

ATTENTION ALL:

It is 9pm EDT Thursday and 3 have registered for the $50K freeroll Steps tourney at Stars. I had to send 3 emails to get one back. Their best answer was in a couple of days which would have been Saturday nite... Same ole bullshit... Don't expect any changes in the future from Stars.

Sean, if your are reading this, you might want to put something on the site letting everyone know they have the ticket to register with now. At least 3 of us have registered already. I DO NOT TRUST Stars to email anyone.

At least we won a battle. They have all the weapons and money so they will win the war except where the US AGA is concerned. Too damn bad they have to deal with us in such a manner. Maybe all of that will change soon when the USA taxes online poker and we can all move to Real Deal Poker.

Good luck all...

Everyone:

The freeroll has been added to the private tourney menu on Stars. It is a $50,000 step ticket tourney with a minimum sign up of 757. It is restricted to the Listing's players who earned 250 points in March and April. These are general step tickets and can be used as such for many tournaments and in the step SnG's.

The tickets you need to register have not been delivered yet and no email notifying us have been sent. The game was posted to the menu just this morning. If we get the 1000 players to sign up then it will pay 3 for every 4 that start.
Be aware that it is Sunday at 3pm EDT and sign up as soon as we are given the tickets and notified.

In my opinion this is a fair and generous outcome. For my part, I want to thank both Listings and Stars for hearing us and for offering this extremely fair and generous freeroll.

Thank you.

My reply to Stars and Listings just sent at 7:40pm my time...

Stars:

Thanks for the info.

Still extremely worried about the startup details not being revealed leads me to believe that they are going to be even larger than the 2 cancelled tourneys.

That will mean that we will lose again without a card being dealt and it will prove that no one has heard our message and pleas. I will wait and see since you are being very careful to avoid this part of the details you are sharing with us.

Does "shortly" mean on Friday or Saturday??? That is how the others were released. Giving everyone zero time to plan for the damn things. Why would someone plan to give up their Sunday if the damn thing has a start requirement of 3000 or more and the other two were cancelled when only a few over 1000 signed up?????????????????

Still not convinced...

Dennis

Everyone:

This is my last email from Stars early this morning in Ohio, USA, Tuesday at 5:25am EDT... Without anyone being able to tell me, I am still worried about the start requirements being too large for it to actually run. If true, then nothing will have been changed and nothing accomplished from all of this.

We will have to wait and see and hope someone heard us. It is now 7:30pm here right now and still nothing official on the Stars site.

Hello,

Thank you for your email. Yes, I can confirm that a replacement $50k WSOP freeroll requiring step tickets will take place this weekend. The tournament is scheduled for Sunday, May 16th at 3:00pm EST. Details will be available in the PokerStars lobby shortly.

PokerStars are again sorry for the inconvenience that this has caused to PokerListings players. If you have any further questions please do not hesitate to ask.

Kind Regards,

P♠kerStarsPartners

Sean Lind 2010-05-11 00:45:02

Dennis,

I'm not sure if there's a requirement for this, but we should know shortly. As of now it's not in the PokerStars lobby, that should also change shortly.

Dennis 2010-05-11 00:31:35

Sean Lind (PokerListings):

Thanks for the update. The proposed freeroll should be acceptable to most, if not all, of those who have qualified, signed up and then been disappointed by the cancellations.

I have not noticed any mention of the requirements for this thing to start? Are there any? That has been the entire problem so far. I mentioned it in my email to Jo.

Is this thing going to actually play out? Or is it being designed not to run like the others? Guess we will have to wait and see. If we get to play then I, for one, will be satisfied and willing to continue play at Stars. And I promise to let all those know that the compromise and apologies have been accepted as soon as it runs.

Thanks again for the updates and for allowing some of my comments to actually stand.

Sean Lind 2010-05-10 20:29:50

Hey All, Sean Lind from PokerListings here. I guess I could post as the name PokerListings, but this way you know who's talking to you.

Firstly, Dennis. You've probably noticed that I've been deleting some of your comments. I've tried to only delete duplicate postings, but if I got rid of any you wanted up, sorry about that.

Here's the latest scoop on the makeup freeroll:

Who: All qualifiers from Mar/Apr. Stars to send mailer this week.

What: $50k in WSOP step tickets (details to follow from Stars).

When: Sunday May 16 at 3PM EST.

There should be more information shortly, and you might even see a news story pop up with all the information.

Once again, sorry for all of this, hopefully all of you, or at least most of you, find this to be an acceptable solution.

Hockeywik 2010-05-10 12:00:40

Ok, it sounds as a reasonable solution. But I was actually triple scammed, as a Pokerlistings Nordic Freeroll ($4k) was cancelled after only 55 players registering. They cancelled it because they required 75 players... But I'll take that battle myself, wp!

Dennis 2010-05-09 23:54:50

Hockeywik:

You are welcome. I will post any further updates that I get. Based on a second and third read of Jo's email to me, I am pretty sure they are planning a $50,000 cash freeroll requiring step tickets to play. And, as she said, anyone who qualified for the Listing's/Star's freerolls that were cancelled in the last 2 months will be given those tickets.

That is how I understand it right now. I have asked for clarification and she has promised updates and when it is scheduled and the tickets arrive in our accounts; then we will all receive emails from Star's.

Both Star's and Listing's have apologized several times for the train wreck that has been the 2010 freerolls so far and both seem to be working towards what I feel is a very acceptable solution.

Time will tell.
