Weekend tourneys roll on in WSOP shadow

Nice paydays continue at weekly guarantees

Despite the high profile World Series events running simultaneously over the weekend, numbers were still surprisingly strong at the big online guarantees this week. Almost 7,000 logged on for the PokerStars.com Sunday Million and over 800 did likewise for the Bodog.com $100K, with dangdokodang and MMZentner the big winners respectively.

Over at PokerStars.com, attendance was down just marginally from last week despite the high profile competition, and play was still highly competitive.

A three-way chop among dnagdokodang, ANDAMAN 974 and goodvibe1 guaranteed each of the top three players a nice payday, and despite losing a huge chip lead and finishing second, ANDAMAN 974 still took the biggest check while dangdokodang took first place spoils.

Over at Bodog.com, attendance likewise took a little dip over last week, resulting in an $18,000 overlay, but was still strong at just over 800 players.

MMzenter outlasted them all and, despite similarly losing a big chip lead at one point, still managed to hang on for the win and the sweet $25k.
